Archos 2 and 4 players leakArchos hasn’t said anything official yet, but there are leaks of the Archos 2 and 4 players, with the Archos 2 listed on Amazon. Don’t expect anything too Earth shattering here. They’re just another alternative to what the company already offers.

For $60 you’ll get 8GB of internal memory, a microSD memory card slot, 1.8″ display at 128 x 160 resolution and voice recording capability. Not bad for the price. The 16GB model will cost you more of course. We don’t know much about the Archos 4. Just that it has a 4″ display and up to 32GB of internal flash memory.

Hands on: Griffin iTrip Auto Universal FM Transmitter

Posted in Review by Conner Flynn on March 27th, 2009

Hands on: Griffin iTrip Auto Universal FM TransmitterThe iTrip is a pretty simple device. The idea is that you plug one end into your car cigarette lighter socket and the other into the earphone jack of your MP3 player, replacing your car radio with the soothing sounds of your own music collection playing through FM radio.

It’s just that simple. Just plug it in and find a frequency where you hear only static. You’ll get better results if you find one that has some neighboring frequencies with static. Then use the + or - buttons to tune your MP3 player to the same frequency. Just like that your player has replaced your car radio.

Sony MP3 concept for all ages

Sony MP3 concept for all agesThe latest conceptual Sony MP3 player by Damien Crossan looks like a warped Wii nunchuk. It features a simplified interface with keys that are clearly laid out and raised. The high contrast screen features light text on a dark background, making it easy to read. Available in 4GB to 8 GB of storage space, the gadget also features FM radio.

This Sony MP3 concept would target the older generation who enjoy portable music but have a hard time with new devices due to stiff fingers, poor vision and complicated interfaces. If this one ever sees the light of day, retirement homes will never be the same.

Retro cassette MP3 player uses the power of your finger

Retro cassette MP3 player uses the power of your fingerRemember the joy of owning audio cassettes? Tape unraveling everywhere as your tape deck tries to eat your music, questionable sound quality, the tape being too tight and requiring your finger to advance it…Mix tapes…Good times. Thank god it’s over.

Well, it’s back. But don’t worry, it’s better. The NVDRS Tape is a concept MP3 player that limits you to just 45 minutes of music, or 10 songs. And yes, it really channels the spirit of the cassette tape. You fast forward and rewind by sticking your finger in the cassette hole and twisting, just like you did decades ago.
