Star Wars MP3 player: May The Force Rock You
So you’re chillin’ with your Clone Trooper laptop, wearing your flannel like George Lucas and waiting in line for that new Ewok action figure that has a big release today. But what you need is some tunes.

This is what you want right here. A Star Wars mp3 player. The front features a close-up of Darth Vader with glowing red eyes, which is cool, but sadly, this MP3 player only features 512MB of memory and a display that looks like it’s 30 years old. It does come with a built-in radio however. It’s currently out of stock at Amazon.co.uk, but ForbiddenPlanet will release a similar product shown above for about $80 US at the end of the month.

Zarva Zippo MP320 MP3 player
Everyone knows and recognizes the Zippo. Rugged lighters that guarantee to give you a light even in the harshest conditions. So why not use the same material as a Zippo lighter to create an MP3 player? Combine the Zippo’s tough exterior and design with an MP3 player and you have the Zarva Zippo MP320 MP3 player.

Unlike the lighter it has a tiny display used for user interface navigation. It supports audio formats only (MP3 and WMA), so no video playback. Some other features include USB 2.0 connectivity, seven EQ modes, and an integrated microphone. The 1GB model will cost you just $27.

iRiver E100 MP3 player is thin, kind of sexy
This isn’t your typical run of the mill MP3 player. It’s got stereo speakers, FM radio, a microSD card slot, line-in, and a new D-Click system. Then there’s the large 2.4-inch TFT LCD screen. Did I mention, it weighs just two ounces? This sweet MP3 Player is available in two capacities, a 4GB version and 8GB, both with flash memory. Some color choices are Solid Black, White, Sky Blue, and Pink.

You get a bunch of audio and video formats, Rhapsody, Napster, and Yahoo subscription services, voice recording, text viewer, photo viewer, and more. The battery will give you 5 hours of video playback or 17 hours of music. You wouldn’t expect it to be reasonably priced, but it is, at just $109.99 for the 4GB model or $159.99 for the 8GB version. Nice! You are getting a lot for your money.

Floral Titi MP3 player has unfortunate name
Floral Titis are going to be a hit. I predict that everyone will come to love titis and they will name towns after them, like Titi-ville and Lake Titi-caca. Titis are best in pairs, so buy two. This clip-type MP3 player is in fact, a titi. So the woman above is showing you her titi.

Ok, it’s clear that I never grew up. It will come in nine different colors offered by GDIS for the Floral Titi – strawberry, mocha, carrot, aqua, sweet pink, vanilla, lavender, mint and ice blue. Each unit features 8 hours of playback time and weighs 10 grams. Available in 1GB and 2GB capacities, they retail for approximately $40 and $55, respectively.

NES MP3 player and speaker mod
Now this is a very awesome Nintendo mod. Not only did they turn the original NES controller into an MP3 player, but they went that extra step and turned one of the NES carts into a speaker. This is portable audio that’s sure to get some attention.

Who cares if the sound quality is crap. That’s not why you undertake a project like this. It’s for the glory. The deep down inside geek glory that burns inside like a raging storm. Here’s to you, unknown nerd who put in the hours and gave us this vision of NES awesomeness. We salute you.

Garfield MP3 player is cheap, lazy

Garfield MP3 player is cheap
While Garfield may be lazy, those who market his likeness are not. That’s because many people seem to have a special place in their heart for the cartoon cat. He’s alot like you and me. He loves to sleep, eat, watch tv and make sly comments, then repeat the whole process.

For $7.99 what’s not to love? Surplus Computers has a 256MB Garfield Mp3 Player that is expandable with a SD card slot and also features built-in mic recording. You’ll also notice the matching orange earbuds. For $13.99 they’ll even throw in the extra 1GB card. No matter what, this MP3 player has to be better then the Garfield movie right?

Cranking MP3 player from Thanko
Here’s an MP3 player from Thanko that can be hand-cranked, so you can enjoy your music no matter where you are, and not have to worry about batteries or the sun for power. They say that a single minute of cranking will get you 10 minutes worth of music. The device is capable of storing up to 1GB worth of audio, and supports MP3 and WMA formats. It even has a built-in flash light for when you are rocking out in the dark. The player retails for about 40 Euros. It’s not heavy on style and it won’t win mp3 player of the year by a long shot, but it gets the job done.

Insignia Pilot media player has 4GB capacity with FM tuner and BluetoothLast weekend Best Buy made a quiet release of their latest line of the budget-minded Insignia media players, one of which being the 4GB Insignia Pilot. The Insignia players have always been somewhat in the background, offering decent “Best-Buy brand” players at affordable prices, but this latest release has some competitive features at a very competitive price which should give a lot of more popular brands a run for their money.

The player supports playback of MP3, WMA, WMA Lossless, WMA DRM, WMA Pro, OGG, WAV and Audible audio files along with MPEG4 (30 fps) and WMV (30 fps) for video. It will also support viewing JPEG still images. Users can watch video and view images on a nice-sized 2.4″ widescreen LCD and it offers up to 25 hours of audio playback on a single charge.

Sansa Clip is a Real Small Sounder

The tiny SanDisk Sansa Clip MP3 playerHow tiny is the Sansa Clip, SanDisk’s latest MP3 player? That photo above doesn’t lie: the Clip is double the height of a quarter or almost the same size as your average golf ball. The Sansa Clip plays just MP3 and WMA formats but it does have a nice selection of features including a built-in FM radio, voice recorder, OLED screen and a 15-hour battery life.

It will come in four colors (black, pink, red and blue) and arrive in stores next month in either 1 GB ($40) or 2 GB ($60) models, and its trim size may do a lot to take away some sales from a certain company that is named after a red fruit. With a device this small you may need to pick up a couple of them just in case you leave one in your pants …

Sandisk Sansa Shaker

Sandisk Sansa ShakerGadgets for young kids are way cooler now then they were when I was young. Within just the last few months we’ve seen a new Kidizoom digital camera, a kid-tough FP3 player and now Sandisk, wanting to make sure they have something for everyone, has released the Sandisk Sansa Shaker MP3 player targeting the smaller tykes.

The Sansa Shaker isn’t necessarily high on tech but it might meet the wants of parents who are tired of kids that always want to borrow their $200 iPod and fill it up with songs from High School Musical and Hanna Montana. This kid-targeted MP3 player retails at just under $40, comes with a 512MB SD card (would you expect another medium from Sandisk?) and has some unique methods for navigating music.

The name “Shaker” comes from the fact that users of the player can actually give it a …
