One of the things that comes along with summer is lawn care. I hate mowing my yard, but I am too cheap to pay someone to do it for me. Mowing the yard is especially sucky here in Texas since it’s like 105 in the shade most days during the summer months. I am counting the days until my son is old enough to do it for me. That’s why I had kids after all.

I think I could probably get the neighborhood kids to mow my lawn for free if I had this sweet remote control mower. The thing looks like a cross between a tank and your average mower and can navigate slopes up to 70 degrees.

The Hustler Zeon is an all-electric lawnmower that has just come onto the market. No price yet, but we’re guessing it won’t be cheap. A full charge of 16 hours will give you 80 minutes of lawn eating time, and it’s silent since it’s electric. As a sweet bonus, it says Hustler on the side, so all your neighbors will think you won it by reading a skin mag.

You might notice that there´s no steering wheel, just two handles on each side of the seat, which will give you all of your steering. Top speed is seven miles per hour. It may not be the best looking lawn mower, but it beats pushing an old model.

Have you ever wished you could do something useful with the grass your lawnmower collects in the bag? Apparently someone thought long and hard on that very issue. A few someones, like South Korean students Yong Hee Cho, Yuli Sung, Jee Won Lee and Seung Hee Son. The Muwi mower will take your yard trimmings and compact them into usable shapes like a seat or a grass ball your kids can throw around.

After it figures out the size and shape of your lawn, it will start munching grass by itself and excrete fun shapes. It’s your choice whether you want to clean up the shapes, seat on them or play with them. You might even want to toss them all in your neighbors yard. It’s kind of like having a robotic goat since it munches grass and leaves droppings.

A long time ago…On a lawn far far away… Lawn mowers were tethered to a power cable. Not anymore. Battery technology has finally reached the point where you can buy an electric mower that doesn’t need to be plugged in to an outlet. Which is awesome because some of us like to run over said cable and kill the lawn mower. The Neuton CE 6.2 model features a removable rechargeable battery that’s ideal for lawns up to 1/3 of an acre or about 15,000 sq. ft. in size. That means about 45 to 60 minutes of mow time per charge.

The battery is removable, so you can swap it out with a backup if it dies before your lawn is finished or if you want to use the trimmer/edger accessory. The batteries charge in about 8 hours and are said to last for about 5 years. You green sorts out there will also be happy to know that the battery is 95% recyclable when it finally does die.
