Beats by Dr. Dre Headphones get launch date and lower price |
Way back in January at CES 2008 we first heard of the Beats by Dr. Dre headphones from Monster. The headphones promised new technology that would bring sound quality to headphones that was not previously seen in consumer grade products. The catch was the price was right at $400.
Monster has announced that the Beats by Dr. Dre headphones will be available on July 25 and will be exclusive to the Apple store and Best Buy. The headphones are being aimed squarely at users of the iPhone and iPhone 3G as well as iPods.





First off, sorry about the photo – that backside shot is the only one we could find. It belongs to the center speaker of a new series of speakers Monster announced today called the StreamLine 100. Prices vary between $300 and $600, depending upon which speaker component you need.

There’s nothing real new technology-wise with this wireless bridge from Monster, but it definitely has the looks to get our attention. The wireless bridge is designed for use with an Apple iPod (what isn’t?) by connecting a transmitter to the base of the player. A 2.4GHz signal is then sent from the player attachment to the base station at a distance of no more than 30 feet.
