NEC MultiSync LCD175M 17-Inch Eco-Friendly LCD MonitorNEC has dropped yet another eco-friendly LCD monitor, this one aimed at business users. It’s called the MultiSync LCD175M, a 17-inch LCD monitor with an energy efficient display, reducing power consumption by nearly 42% compared to regular panels.

Some specs include a native resolution of 1280 x 1024 pixels, 5ms response time, 250 cd/m2 brightness and it features an EPEAT Gold rating, a TCO 5.0 certification and Energy Star 5.0 compliance. The NEC MultiSync LCD175M retails for just $179.

Acer T230H 23 inch Multi-Touch LCD MonitorThe T230H is Acer’s latest addition to its monitor lineup. The T230H features multi-touch capabilities and is a 23-inch widescreen monitor that offers Full HD resolution at 1920 x 1080 pixels, an 80,000:1 contrast ratio, 300 cd/m2 brightness, 2ms response time and a 160/160 degree viewing angle.

This monitor also packs in two 1.5W speakers, along with D-Sub, DVI and HDMI connectors. The Acer T230H should arrive in Europe soon for 349 Euro (or $516).

Samsung unveils new monitors for PC with TV tuners

My iPhone can act as a MP3 player and a MID in addition to making calls and I would like it if my normal monitor could do other tasks as well. Samsung has announced a pair of new LCDs called the 933HD and the 2333HD that work for your computer and work as normal TVs too.

The 933HD is a 19-inch unit selling for $249.99. The 2333HD is a 23-inch unit selling for $329.99. Both displays have integrated TV tuners, 10000:1 contrast ratio, and 5ms response times. Both of the screens also have stereo speakers.

JVC 3D LCD display available for pro installers

jvc3dlcd-sbThe future of home entertainment is 3D. 3D technology is now in most theaters around the country and people are getting more used to watching 3D movies that require glasses. The stage is set for 3D content to enter into the home arena as well.

JVC has announced a new 3D LCD monitor for the custom installation market called the GD-463D10 that claims to produce flicker-free 3D images. It does this by using an Xpol polarizing filter method that allows the use of passive filter glasses.

Well now women have the Buttcam to help them out in dressing rooms, so they won’t have to ask “Do these pants make my butt look big?” At least in Australia, where the Buttcam has made it’s debut.

Aussie retailer Jeans West took simple video camera technology and created a way to let shoppers decide for themselves just how big that butt looks in pants. It’s a simple solution to a common woman problem.

BenQ M2700HDS 27 inch Widescreen LCD MonitorBenQ has unveiled the upcoming 27-inch LCD monitor dubbed the M2700HDS in Japan. This latest widescreen monitor from the company boasts a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, a 5ms response time, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 300 cd/m2 brightness and four 2.5W built-in speakers.

As far as ports, it features USB, D-Sub, DVI and two HDMI ports. The M2700HDS will be available later in the year. Unfortunately, we don’t have a price yet, but it should fall in line with other monitors with comparable specs.

Iiyama ProLite E1906S-B 19 inch LCD monitor

iiyamaIiyama has introduced another eco-friendly LCD monitor, the ProLite E1906S-B. This 19-inch LCD monitor is all about the energy efficient display, reducing power consumption by nearly 35.9% compared to regular panels.

The monitor supports a native resolution of 1280 x 1024 pixels, a 5ms response time, 10,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, 250 cd/m2 brightness, two 1W speakers and D-Sub as well as DVI connections. The ProLite E1906S-B is green, so will require $208 worth of green from you.

AOC ships budget green 24-inch LCD

AOC ships budget green 24-inch LCDAOC has dropped another affordable and eco-friendly LCD monitor that meets EPEAT Gold standards. The AOC 2436Vw 24-inch LCD monitor supports a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and features 30,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, 5ms response time, and 300 cd/m2 brightness. The 1080p screen consumes less than 49W of power.

It also comes with several simple connectivity ports, which include VGA, DVI and USB. Who says it isn’t easy being green? The AOC 2436Vw is priced at $220 and is already shipping.

Mimo 710-S portable monitorIf you’re in the market for a spare monitor, this is a nice looking one. The Mimo 710-S is the “Mobile Slider” edition of their existing line. It’s a 7-inch, 800×480 USB monitor that opens like a laptop and features 90 degree rotation so you can view it however you like.

Oddly this one costs just $20 more than the existing Mimo 710. So if portability is not an issue, you may as well go for the older model. The 710-S will be released this month for $150. It’s a pretty useful design. Just pop it in your laptop bag when traveling.

It uses both audio and visual sensors to figure out when you’re tossing and turning, snoring or grinding your teeth. It will let you know if your sleep level is light, medium or deep and show you the number of hours and minutes you’ve spent in each level.

Samsung XL2370 Finger-Slim LED monitorThe Samsung XL2370 boasts what Samsung calls a “finger-slim” design, with high-end features like a 2ms response time and 1080p resolution (1920×1080 pixels) as well as a 40% power savings. Samsung is calling it eco-friendly because it is lighter to transport and should require less materials to produce.

How well those claims work in the real world, we aren’t sure. This monitor will come out in Korea this month, then will make its way to the rest of the world at some point. No word if the US is on their list yet.
