The Nintendo DS Classroom will feature around 60 applications which will cover kanji, math, civics, physics and history. These will be available to students in junior high and high school in 2010. The idea is that the students will be able to do their homework, take tests, and even get real-time feedback from the teachers.

The system will be shown off in Osaka at the New Education Expo 2009 this month. This is one DS that you won’t get in trouble with at school, but it’s one that you will not be thrilled to use.

This modified Roomba avoids users when it detects high levels of stress. Which is good for it because otherwise it would just be willing to take your abuse if you’re the sick sort that kicks puppies, cute kitties and helpless roombas.

It was designed by researchers at the University of Calgary, who interact with the bot via a headband for gamers that detects how much muscle tension is in your face. The more tension, the more space the Roomba will put between itself and you. The idea is to explore human and machine interaction on an emotional level.

These things are just plain creepy and wrong, but if you’re looking for a toy that resembles a mutated alien baby these are for you. They’re called Genpets and they were created by the demented mind of Adam Brandejs.

They’re the “Only Bioengineered Buddy. Available in 7 different personality types”. Each personality type is linked to it’s respective color, and that color is represented on each package. Continuing with the creepy and wrong factor, each package has a built in heart monitor that is fully functional, with green LED lights and a built in speaker. I guess that way you’ll know if your Genpet has a bad ticker. Each package also has a “fresh gauge” consisting of four blue LED lights displaying the status of the Genpet’s freshness.
