Buffalo is getting ready to launch yet another portable hard drive in Japan. This one is called the MiniStation HD-PCT1TU2 and it comes in 1TB capacity, with a glossy enclosure in either white or black.

Some other features include a USB 2.0 interface, software for power management and data backup and encryption. The 1TB MiniStation HD-PCT1TU2 will hit Japan next month for 13,600 Yen (or about $169 in yankee dollars).

Buffalo has announced some new hard drives, the Buffalo MiniStation Pocket Hard Drive and DriveStation, a desktop hard drive storage solution that also supports Apple Time machine. The pocket sized Buffalo MiniStation will play nice with both PC and Mac and is available in 320GB or 500GB capacities. It appears to be USB 3.0 ready and can be powered by USB, without an extra power supply.

The larger desktop DriveStation comes with either a USB 2.0 or USB 3.0 port and is available in either 1TB, 2TB or 3TB storage capacities. It also comes with Buffalo’s backup utility for automatic backups. It can be setup to support Apple’s Time Machine using a USB connection as well.

Buffalo has announced a new line of MiniStation portable hard drives in Japan. The MiniStation 3.0 series is sleek, with a glossy black or white coating, and uses SuperSpeed USB 3.0 connectivity.

They come in 500GB and 1TB storage capacities and are backed by a one-year warranty. They also come bundled with software for data backup, encryption and power saving. The 500GB and 1TB Buffalo MiniStation 3.0 retail for $141 and $206. Not bad at all.

Buffalo’s latest MiniStation DataVault delivers 500GB of storage space, but unlike other solutions, this model features automatic full disk encryption and a rugged shock-resistant design so that all of your data will be safe and sound.

This one will cost you $244, is USB-powered and will be available this month in Japan. Chances are pretty good that we will see this one in other parts of the world soon after.

Buffalo is launching a new range of portable hard drives as it moves to join Seagate, Western Digital and HP in offering small sized portable storage on the go. The new Buffalo Ministation Metro will come in your choice of three colors; black, red and white, and comes in sizes up to 500GB.

They feature a sleek look and are about the size of a small paperback book. The company is trying to appeal to those folks who always forget to bring the cable with them by including a USB cable as part of the design. When not in use, the flexible cable wraps around and tucks into the drive, which is convenient.
