The TV98+ Spider-Phone from ChinaOh China, why do you hurt us so with your unlicensed cheap knock-off products? This one really hurts my eyes. The phone is bad enough, but the packaging also shows a scene from the worst Spiderman movie ever. Spider Man 3. That’s the one where he went all emo and girlly.

The Spider-Phone has a 2 Megapixel camera, a swivel color display, a microSD card slot and dual SIM card slots. It supports GSM 800/900/1800/1900 networks and is priced at HK$1180 (US$152). What are the odds that we’ll see a Goblin phone to accompany this?

Marvel Comics on your cell phone

Marvel Comics on your cell? The time may be close at hand when you can peruse Marvel comics on your cell phone. The comics industry had to embrace it someday, sales being what they are. I’m just wondering how they are going to deal with such a small screen. They may just offer snippets that give you the whole story, or let you view a frame at a time. But are comics any good viewed in that way?

I mean, is that kind of severe eye strain worth finding out whether Spiderman beat his latest foe? Or if Wolverine finally bagged Jean Grey? A better bet might be to subscribe to Marvel’s online service that costs between $5 to $10 monthly. Still, anything that brings geeks together with comics is a good thing.
