Mad Catz, makers of all kinds of third party gaming peripherals and accessories, has just announced some new Gears of War 3 gear with some licensed GoW3 audio devices for the Microsoft Xbox 360. They intend to ship them in time for the game’s launch later this year.

They are available for pre-order now. There is the Throat Communicator, the Performance Stereo Gaming Headset and the Dolby 7.1 Surround Sound Headset for $29.99, $99.99 and $179.99. You gotta have the gear for Gears Of War.

You might remember that Mad Catz scored the exclusive rights to produce Xbox 360 wireless headphones not long ago. Well here they are here and apparently they don’t need to be tethered to your controller for voice chat or plugged into a wall to charge. The new Mad Catz Warhead 7.1 gets everything it needs from a base station connected to your console. Using USB and optical cables directly from the Xbox 360 to the tower shown above, and it will supposedly deliver enough 5.8GHz bandwidth for virtual Dolby surround sound on four pairs of headphones at once — plus wireless Xbox LIVE audio chat. Pretty awesome.

The USB base station will also give you an on-screen battery readout, and there’s a second swappable battery pack in the base station’s charger. It will be under $300 this holiday season.

Mad Catz, the well known manufacturers of all kinds of video game accessories has just struck a deal with Microsoft for exclusive rights to produce wireless gaming headphones for the Xbox 360.

The Mad Catz headsets will feature Dolby 5.1 technology, but other than that we have no details. We do know that we can expect these headsets in stores this holiday season. Mad Catz should do very well with this exclusive deal. Maybe next they will corner the wireless PS3 headset market.

Those mad cats over at Mad Catz have unveiled their new line of gaming headphones which pay tribute to CoD, the Mad Catz Call Of Duty: Spec Ops headphones. These limited edition headphones will be available for the Sony PlayStation 3, Microsoft Xbox 360, and of course the PC.

These headphones feature 5.1 Dolby Digital sound and a detachable microphone. The PS3 and Microsoft Xbox 360 versions are available in true or virtual 5.1 and retail for $249 and $199.

We all know that good flight sims on the Xbox 360 are few and far between, but for some reason Mad Catz wanted to create this flightstick for them. This is basically an updated Cyborg X flight stick for PC, but for the Xbox 360.

It has almost all of the features of the original stick and they’ve added some buttons, a removable lap rest and wireless functionality. The Cyborg F.L.Y. 9 will cost you about $100, flyboy. Now go find a good flight sim.

The Wii may not be super powerful and you don’t necessarily think fighting games when you think of Nintendo’s console, but the release of Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom hopes to change all that. Mad Catz’s has a cool new Arcade FightStick to go with it.

Like other Mad Catz’s fightsticks, this one is moddable and even has a few features that the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions lack, like a toggle switch that will let the arcade stick control either the d-pad of the classic controller or the left or right analog stick. That means you’ll be able to use it with a bunch of Virtual Console titles. Awesome. Are you ready to fight?

This mouse looks like it came from the future to kill all other mice, with it’s abundance of buttons, John Conner style. The Mad Catz line of USB Cyborg mice don’t just look awesome, they also feature adjustable ergonomics/weights, DPIs up to 5600 and prices up to $130.

As to what all of those buttons do, we’re still trying to figure that out. We do know that it beats your current gaming mouse by a landslide.

We’ve seen plenty of Rock Band guitars, but the new Rock Band ‘Player’s Edition’ Fender Telecaster for the Xbox 360 has a distressed look. For $110. By now I would think everyone has a Rock Band guitar, so $110 seems pretty steep, distressing or no.

The Mad Catz guitar also features Shredderz fret buttons that should make it easier to rock those solos. Some other features include the optional Electro-Harmonix Overdrive Pedal, the back tuning button, tilt mechanism, and a new touch sensitive pickup.

Modern Warfare 2 players are going to love this badass third-party controller. It looks awesome and even has extra buttons on the back so you don’t have to take your thumb off the sticks. Moving your thumb to reload or jump can be dangerous.

This baby also sports rubber grips and a “soft-touch finish for extended gaming sessions”, so I guess your hand won’t cramp up. Sadly it’s not wireless, but Mad Catz pledges to provide a “robust and latency free connection with the console.”

If you’re in the market for a fake guitar that costs more than some real guitars, than this is your lucky day. Mad Catz has started to ship this Rock Band Wireless Wooden Fender Stratocaster. It’s a 1:1 replica of the axe that is constructed from genuine Stratocaster wooden blanks.

Fake guitar aficionados will have plenty to love. Even the tuning keys and bridge are built from genuine Fender metal parts and fittings. It also sports a wireless module that will work with Microsoft’s Xbox 360. For your $299.99 you also get a Fender guitar strap and a headset socket for online play.

Mad Catz is going all out for the release of the Modern Warfare 2 game this November. They’ve announced some new accessories to enhance gameplay, including some custom controllers, a “Throat Communicator”, mice, faceplates and “skinz”.

Prices range from $15 to $100 for 10 different items, so it looks like the war to be fought involves your money. Hopefully a “Throat Communicator” is more then just a little communicator attached to a strap for your throat. We should know more soon.

Nyko has their Wand, but now Mad Catz has become the second peripheral maker to try their hand at cloning the Wiimote. According to Mark over at Gizmodo, it’s promising.

He didn’t get any play time with it, but he got to hold it and play with buttons. Mad Catz’ “Remote For Nintendo Wii” feels the same in size and weight as a real Wiimote. Mad Catz guarantees that their Wiimote will fit in the sleeves of normal Wiimotes. It will likely fit into any gun,fishing rod, etc that a Wiimote will fit into.

I have talked before about Rock Band and how much fun it is to play with a group of friends. I’m not the only Rock Band fan out there that likes to play the game. Popularity for the game is so high that there is a wealth of aftermarket controllers on the market for the Xbox and the PS3. You don’t see that many for the Wii though.

Mad Catz has announced that it will be changing that. The controller maker has signed an agreement with Nintendo that will allow it to build and market officially licensed Wii Rock Band controllers outside of Asia.

The Rock Band Portable Drum Kit for Xbox 360 is a complete skins kit designed to travel with you and be played on almost any solid surface. Apparently the rubber pads can handle over a million strikes, but be careful what you lay these on. You don’t want to be banging away on expensive furniture. This is the perfect way to play if you don’t have room for the full kit. It only costs $59.99 and ships soon.
