Steampunk sewing machine is functionalLove steampunk, but lack a steampunk sewing machine to go with your Victorian decor? Becky Stern’s Steampunk Sewing Machine actually functions as a sewing machine. The propeller even spins when the drive-wheel moves! As Becky puts it, “I got an old sewing machine at goodwill and steamed it up with brassy bits!”

That about sums it up. With this thing you can authentically sew steampunky stuff. Fans of such contraptions can take a gander at the machine and other steampunk objects at First Studio in downtown Phoenix on December 5, where these will be displayed as part of a steampunk show.

Machine turns Jolly Ranchers into cotton candy, Dentists win

Machine turns Jolly Ranchers into cotton candy, Dentists winLeave it to the clever Japanese to invent a machine that turns Jolly Ranchers into cotton candy. It’s all sugar in the end and I can just hear the ca-ching of cash register bells going off in the heads of dentists everywhere. Extra cavities means an upgrade to their yacht or a new sports car, or a new coat for a trophy wife. This device certainly helps a dentist retire happily.

It’s called the Ame de Wataame, and it comes direct from Japan. So it isn’t cheap. Importing it will cost $159 plus another $60 for shipping. But come on, dental visits aside, how often do you get the chance to convert a hard suckable sugar into a melt in your mouth sugar? 9 out of 10 dentists are hoping it sells big here in the U.S.

Good for you. It will be fresher, not loaded with preservatives and other chemicals and you’ll get the respect of peanut enthusiasts like former President Jimmy Carter. Your sandwich of choice, PB&J will taste awesome.

Just pour 2 cups of peanuts and decide whether you want crunchy or smooth. After that, just spread it, eat and let it stick to the roof of your mouth. It will cost $50 starting at the end of the month. Might just be easier to buy it in the store, but at a few bucks a jar this machine will save you money.

Brunopasso pod espresso machine looks fast, stands still

Brunopasso pod espresso machine looks fast, stands still
This isn’t an espresso machine that fits inside of a formula one racer, but it does look super fast with those two dials on top and the handle that looks like it could be a shifter. It was designed by Tadahito Ishibashi for Japanese retailer deviceSTYLE. The pod-espresso machine Brunopasso PD-1 sports a modular design concept that is actually inspired by the sports cars of the 60’s.

They took several automobile design elements like the gearshift-like handle made from beech wood, and the gauges. You would think that with such cool design it would be one of the most expensive espresso makers, but it’s not. It’s up there at $850, but still affordable. Make your coffee feeling like you are going about 120 mph, then shift gears and drink up, feeling like you’re going a jittery 150.

Egg McMuffin machine: your new breakfast buddy
If you’re one of those people who absolutely have to make a trip to McDonalds every morning to get a Egg McMuffin, then this is for you. This gadget will toast your muffins and poach two eggs in just minutes, whipping up your favorite breakfast sandwich without requiring you to make the drive.

With four slots for muffins and two for eggs, you can make yourself two sandwiches at a time. You’ll pack on the pounds in no time. It only costs $60, so after roughly 60 sandwiches, it has paid for itself. Hell, put on a uniform and hit the sidewalk selling your own version. Just don’t come crying to me when a red haired and demented clown tries to put the screws to you for turning tricks in his territory. Cause he’ll cut ya! He’s as mean as they come.
