Look at this lamp. It wins you over just by doing nothing. Could be the work of an alien civilization and in all likelihood it powers a starship somewhere in a far off nebula. I would buy it in a heartbeat to give my place that Sci-Fi feel. Looks aside, the spherical shape and panels have a function, they adjust the lamp’s light levels to correspond with what’s coming in through your windows.

An internal 3 axis gearbox moves the panels and keeps your home at a constant light level even as the sun goes down. Pretty neat. But will it enhance my life by making me feel like I’m an important Sci-Fi adventurer? Will it wow my guests so that they think I’m an undercover alien? Yes and yes. Those are really the only questions to ask when considering a new lamp.

Looking for something huge, shiny and just oozing with that kinda classiness that can only come from things you saw on MTV’s cribs? I think I found it for ya. Nothing says class like giant chandeliers shaped like a handgun, AK-47, Skull and cross-bones and even a giant spider.

I haven’t seen anything this cool since the Pac-Man Christmas tree in Madrid. Unlike the Pac-Man tree, this Pac-Man-inspired modular block lighting system can stay up year round.

This wall mural is on display at the Maison & Objet 2008 show in Paris. One thing you’ll notice right away is how outnumbered our yellow friend is. That’s a ton of ghosts for an 8-bit hero to gobble. They could have put some fruit in or more dots. The second thing you’ll notice is that the woman’s rear has been blocked from our view. Oh well, you can’t have it all right? We’ll always have Paris my secretive Pac-Man loving geek goddess.
