Dark Ops Wii light gun

Dark Ops Wii light gunHere’s a Wii light gun that looks alien and lethal at the same time. The Dark Ops Wii Light Gun peripheral lets you kill on screen beings in style. We’ve seen our share of wii guns, but this one has a form factor that is a departure.

One major drawback is that it would be a pain to reach the D-pad. But at least it looks different compared to standard plastic Wii guns. It’s for people who want to play Wii games with alien looking guns for no real reason other than to look cool.

NES console inside of a light gun

NES console inside of a light gun
Much like the guy who stuffed an NES inside of an NES controller, this modder managed to stuff a Nintendo NES 8-bit game system into a light gun controller. Instead of hacking up an actual NES system he used the NOAC(Nintendo on a chip) system.

The down side is that there’s no cartridge slot, so you have to play the games built into the NOAC board. Luckily the chip came from the Super Joy III which has 76 games. The setup is powered by 3 AAA batteries that fit snugly into the handle.

Wii Zapper-Like “Light Gun” From Brando

Wii 2 in 1 Light Gun from Brando uses both controllers in a tommy gun configurationIt looks like Brando might have beat Nintendo out of the gate with their own Wii controller “tommy gun” configuration. This Wii 2 in 1 Light Gun from Brando looks a lot like the Zapper that’s expected to be released by Nintendo in November, which will ship along with a Crossbow training game.

This version from Brando is available now and is listed at $18, $2 under the expected price of the Zapper but with no game. But, unfortunately we’re still going to have to wait a little longer for the Wii games to come out that take advantage of this plastic mold.
