LG converts container ship into a huge advertisement for eco-friendly fridge

Posted in LG by Conner Flynn on June 29th, 2009

LG converts container ship into a huge advertisement for eco-friendly fridgeIn a great bit of marketing, LG is attempting to lure consumers toward its latest energy efficient refrigerator with an unusual launch. The company has designed a 70-meter long container ship disguised as their new refrigerator.

The football field sized ship/refrigerator sailed up the Seine from Le Havre to Paris between June 22 and June 25. The company brags that the refrigerator consumes low power, though we aren’t confident that the worldwide launch of this new LG side-by-side refrigerator was anywhere near environmentally-friendly. But it is clever.

Thanks to time-sequential technologies, both right and left eyes will view different images, fooling you into thinking that you’re actually looking at a 3D image. Wait. What if I don’t want to be fooled? Fool me once, shame on me, fool me twice and I just might enjoy 3D images on your LCD sirs.

LG preparing mobile phone with 12 MP cameraLooks like LG will be releasing a new 12-megapixel cell phone later in the year. Take it with a grain of salt, but it could very well happen. 12-megapixels will likely replace the new 8-megapixel camera phones that are all over the market.

Sure, the lens isn’t up to par with those of a standard digital camera, but it’s always a march forward. Lens tech will just have to catch up. Who cares if those extra MP are useless?
