LG SL8000 borderless LCD HDTV unveiled in RussiaLG has announced its latest LCD HDTV, the SL8000 Borderless, in Russia. TV’s without borders. That’s what I’m talking about. Unlike conventional LCD TVs, the SL8000 has a unique single-layer screen, with the TV screen and frame in one piece, which makes it borderless.

This HDTV also features 1920 x 1080 Full HD resolution, 150,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio and a 2ms response time. You’ll also get LG’s TruMotion 200GHz which reduces the blur of moving objects, Smart Energy Saving Plus for reducing electricity consumption and Intelligent Sensor for automatically adjusting the image and the intensity of the backlight under different lighting conditions.

LG announces the world’s first Full HD 3D LCDLike it or not, 3D is coming. LG is leading the charge having just announced the world’s first mass produced Full HD 3D monitor. This guy is 23 inches diagonally, but other than that we don’t have much info yet.

But we do know that Korea plans to introduce Full HD 3D broadcasts and that there are satellite 3D broadcasting trials that will take place in the UK and Japan. So you won’t soon be able to escape the 3D no matter where you run.

LG’s WinMo eXpo unveiled for AT&T

LG's WinMo eXpo unveiled for AT&TCheck out the LG eXpo, a slider with a pico projector inside. This full QWERTY slider is also packing a 1GHz CPU, a 3.2-inch touchscreen, 5 megapixel camera, a microSD slot, and the removable Texas Instruments projector.

The eXpo is running Windows Mobile 6.5, and it will be available from AT&T on December 7th for $199. That’s after a mail in rebate with a two year contract. Then there’s an additional $179 if you choose to get in on the projector action.

LG readies M2794S Full HD LCD Monitor for Japan

LG readies M2794S Full HD LCD Monitor for JapanLG Electronics is preparing to drop their latest Full HD LCD monitor, the M2794S onto the Japanese market and hopes that folks will notice. Let’s all have a quick look so their feelings won’t be hurt. This 27-incher is a widescreen monitor that features 1920 x 1080 Full HD resolution, a 2ms response time, 400 cd/m2 brightness and a 20,000:1 contrast ratio.

Some other features include a built-in speaker with SRS TruSurround XT and you get several connectivity ports including two HDMI, DVI-D and RGB. The M2794S will arrive in Japan on November 27th for about $407.

LG BL40 Chocolate Christmas EditionIt’s barely Turkey day here in the states and LG already has the Christmas spirit. The company has introduced a brand new LG BL40 Chocolate Christmas Edition that will be launched in the South Korean market on December 10th, 2009.

This version features a black color case with golden accents along with an 8-megapixel digital camera with Autofocus. You’ll also get a voucher for a prize of up to 5-million Korean Won, which is around $4,000.

LG X120 netbook comes to America with AT&T

lgx120-sgFor a long time only Europeans were able to take advantage of subsidized notebooks and netbooks with wireless carriers. The deals are now common in America as well, though the prices for the machines are typically not all that discounted compared to just buying the netbook outright.

LG has been offering its X120 netbook in Korea for a while now and has announced that the little machine is now coming to America. The netbook has a 10.1-inch screen, built-in webcam, 1GB of RAM, and a 160GB HDD.

LG GW620 gets it’s own official site

LG GW620 gets it's own official siteWhat with all of the Droid excitement, it’s easy to forget LG’s GW620, LG’s first Android smartphone. And so you won’t forget about it, the LG GW620 now has its own mini-site. The page appears to be a work in progress, but there are two video demos, some stock photos, and the user manual and spec sheet for download.

The GW620 will be a dualband UMTS (900/2100) quadband GSM device, with WiFi and Bluetooth. It has either 2GB or 4GB of internal storage, along with a microSD card slot, and a 5-megapixel autofocus camera with LED flash. The touchscreen is a 3-inch HVGA resistive panel, while the OS is Android 1.5 Cupcake with LG’s own S-Class UI running on top.

LG's ultrathin Windows 7 powered X-Note T380 Here’s yet another Windows 7 machine debuting today, this one from LG. The X-Note T380 is a 13.3-inch ultraportable powered by a Core 2 Duo SU3700 with 4GB of DDR2 RAM, a GMA 4500MHD graphics set, 500GB of hard drive space, 802.11a/g/n WiFi and Windows 7 Home Premium.

LG has also updated its X-Note P510 to include Microsoft’s newest OS, but is otherwise exactly the same. Nothing yet on price or release yet, but we should know soon.

Solar Cell e-Book from LG

Solar Cell e-Book from LGYour choice of e-reader devices continues to grow rapidly. And now LG is showing off its Solar Cell e-Book reader. The prototype has an energy conversion efficiency of about 9.6 percent. That means that it gives you an extra day’s worth of power to continue reading on that 6-inch TFT-LCD after four to five hours in the sun.

LG is working on getting that solar cell energy conversion efficiency rate to 12% by 2010 or up to 14% by 2012. Great news for bookworms, not so great if you have to read for your homework.

The LG HB954SP Blu-ray HCS offers Full HD 1080p video and 5.1 surround, with 1,000W of audio tuned by audio-wizard Mr Mark Levinson. It features a slide-out dock in front for your iPod or iPhone, and you can control it from the HB954SP’s own remote.

The system can also upscale standard definition DVDs up to 1080p. The ethernet connection connects it to the internet for streaming YouTube and BD Live content. You’ll also get two HDMI inputs and a USB port. If you haven’t jumped onto the HTIB bandwagon, this might entice you with it’s touch of blue and globular speakers.

Virgin Mobile USA launches Rumor 2 from LG

lgrumor2-sbPre-paid mobile provider Virgin Mobile USA unveiled a new device on its network today called the LG Rumor 2. The handset is available now for $129.99 making it an affordable device. The handset packs in many of the features that shoppers are looking for.

The device sports a full slide-out QWERTY keyboard, Bluetooth, and a 1.3MP camera. The handset also has a MP3 music player, maps, IM, and email capability as well. Other features include text and pic messaging and mobile web access.

LG unveils GD510 with optional Solar Panel coverLG has unveiled the LG GD510, a nice loking and compact 3-inch full touchscreen phone with WQVGA display resolution (240 x 400), 8GB internal memory and a 3 megapixel camera. The LG GD510 is made from brushed aluminum and features a single button on the bottom of the face that functions as the menu, end and cancel keys, depending on what mode the phone is in.

The focus is on an optimized feature set for a more compact phone that’s easier to use. Apparently the GD510 has an optional solar panel add-on, which replaces the battery cover with a solar panel for recharging.

LG officially unveils BL20 Chocolate handset

LG officially unveils BL20 Chocolate handsetLG has officially announced the upcoming release of its new Chocolate series handset, the BL20. Some specs include a 5-megapixel camera, 2.4-inch display, and a touchbutton interface. The BL20 will ship to Europe first in October for the equivalent of $394 without a contract.

Some other features include an LED flash and autofocus for the camera, with internal memory at 130MB, expandable with an 8GB microSD memory card. It supports Quad-band GSM voice networks and two-band 3G data networks.

LG FB44 iPod dockThe new LG FB44 iPod docking station was unveiled during IFA 2009 and it’s a sexy little unit. The iPod dock provides a total output of 40-watts. That should be plenty for listening to all of your music in an average sized room.

The device also supports DVD playback with 1080p upscaling and they’ve thrown in a HDMI port, so you can connect the LG FB44 to your HDTV. The LG FB44 also has a USB port for direct playback from USB Flash drives. We don’t have any info on pricing or availability just yet.

LG intros XPION X30 nettop with NVIDIA ION graphicsLG just unveiled its first small desktop computer dubbed the XPION X30. It’s powered by the NVIDIA ION graphics chipset which can easily handle HD video playback as well as graphically demanding applications, even running on an Intel Atom 230 1.6GHz processor.

Along for the ride are 2GB of RAM and a 250GB hard drive. It’s powered by Windows Vista, but will likely come with Windows 7 very shortly. No word on price just yet.
