Altek’s Android-based Leo smartphone features a 14 megapixel CCD with 3x optical zoom and 720p video. It was already scheduled for Q4 of this year in Asia, but now Altek has announced that the phone will also be launching Q1 2011 in Europe.

It will also offer a 3.2-inch WVGA multi-touch display and will ship with Google’s Android 2.1 (Eclair). It also offers Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 3.5G (HSPA/WCDMA) wireless and network protocols.

There’s news today that the HTC HD2 is launching on October 12th. The HD2 was previously known as the HTC Leo. The smartphone runs Windows Mobile 6.5 and sports a 4.3 inch capacitive touchscreen that runs at a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels.

The HD2 will run the TouchFlo 3D navigation overlay. According Engadget’s tipster, the O2 intranet site lists the “HTC HD2″ on its future products list with an October 12th launch date.

We have some more details on HTC’s upcoming high end smartphone, the HTC Leo, including some new pictures. Here’s the skinny: The HTC Leo runs a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, is only 11mm thin, features a 4.3 inch screen, and will run Windows Mobile 6.5, as well as sporting a 5 megapixel camera with built in auto focus and a 2 LED flash.

Some other specs include HSDPA connectivity, WiFi, GPS and Bluetooth 2.1. No word on pricing or an exact launch date, but we are looking at September or October.
