Palm Pre launch on June 5th?So when will the Palm Pre be launched? We already have a few dates floating around, and you can now add this new picture showing a Palm Pre “launch lunch” on June 5th to your calendar. So, is this info legit? We aren’t sure. Even the best of them can mis-type “Employee Benfits”.

What do you guys think? The real deal? This could mean that they’re prepping for a June 7 retail launch, which would line up with the Best Buy rumor. Or it could just be an imaginary lunch with a bunch of stuffed animals and tea in small cups.

Palm debuts the PreThis isn’t 100% confirmed yet but the folks at BGR have some launch details for the the Palm Pre. Apparently Best Buy will be getting a limited inventory of 4,500 Pre handsets for a trial launch on June 7th. The story goes that Sprint will be direct-shipping them to arrive on the 6th. So, about 4,500 units will be spread throughout Best Buy Mobile locations across the country.

Yeah, that’s spreading them pretty thin. Rest assured that each and every Best Buy Mobile will be getting at least one Pre. Pricing is apparently still being decided on, but here’s what is likely: New customers with a 2-year contract, $199.99. Existing customer upgrades, $299.99. Outright, $999.99. Ouch!

Zombies take over Best Buy for Resident Evil 5 LaunchMidnight releases of video games are getting old. So Best Buy is looking to do something a bit different when it comes to launching Resident Evil 5. They will be treating it more like a Hollywood premiere event and we may see more of this in the future. How does a store full of zombies and a chainsaw-wielding Dr. Salvador sound?

It will all happen on March 13, at the Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania Best Buy, where they will convert part of their store into a haunted house. Employees will become zombies, their bank of televisions all set to eerie no-signal snow. There will even be even be at least one dude in a potato-sack mask with a chainsaw.

Shortages might hurt “Wii Fit” launch

Shortages might hurt “Wii Fit” launchIf you’re anxious to get rid of some of that excess flab, you may be in for a disappointment. First Nintendo had a launch date of today, but it turns out that this was only applicable to the Nintendo World Store launch in New York. The rest of the out-of-shape in the country still have to wait until May 21 to get their hands on the Wii Fit.

Thing is, if you didn’t preorder a unit, you might not be getting on May 21st. Gamestop’s online store has them temporarily-out-of-stock, and Amazon stopped online preorders awhile ago, with 2.5 units being sold every minute. Your best bet is to get to your local video game retailer bright and early on Wednesday, since things are not looking good.
