iPod Lamps combine music, with a lamp…
Look at those silly iPod lamps all gathered together and having a great old time. All colorful and retro looking. They think they’re pretty special. I don’t have the heart to tell them that they offer nothing new. I mean, that would just be cruel. But, the thing is, they aren’t all that special. Sure, they’re retro looking, but get this. I’ve been listening to music with a lamp on at the same time for practically my whole life.

Don’t get me wrong, I like the colors, but I like you, already own a lamp. On the other hand, if lighting is something new for you and you want an iPod dock to go along with your foray into electricity, it retails for $150 and comes in white, pink, black and brown colors.

Black & Blum bed light: For night time reading

Black & Blum bed light: For night time readingSome of us still read actual paper books at night in bed. If you are not alone in bed, that can be a problem. An overhead light just won’t work. Even a typical small lamp will keep your significant other awake.

So if you’re going to invest in a quality lamp to read by, consider something like this odd little lamp. It has the quirky design of a miniature man reading a book, and the book functions as a lampshade. He’s made from polished zinc, and could actually be considered a small piece of art as well. He’s only £28.50.

RelaxStyle Lamp puts you under the sea

RelaxStyle Lamp puts you under the sea
If you need to unwind, the RelaxStyle Room Palette Effect lamp might be just your thing. It will transport you to a peaceful undersea world at the push of a button. The lamp projects light onto your walls or ceiling that looks like waves. This gives users the feeling of being submerged in water, looking up into the sunlight.

It has a timer that will automatically shut the light show down after 120 minutes. You will know you use this too much when your mind is altered enough for you to start singing about living in a yellow submarine. Or about how you would love to live in an Octopus’ gaden in the shade.

USB desk lamp changes colors the faster you type

USB desk lamp changes colors the faster your typeAlthough it makes me shudder every time, when I see this lamp I envision a multitude of these little things mounted on the walls of programmer cube farms so managers can make sure the keyboards are always going. Due to this I think this lamp is just a horrible invention. Of course, I’m sure it can be used for purposes of good as well, and with a little therapy I can probably get there.
