Anyone in a band knows that lugging around huge equipment like synths is a real hassle. There has to be an easier way, right? The Korg Monotron analog synthesizer may be the solution you’ve been looking for. It’s a fully-functioning synth that is also pocket-sized, making it all a breeze.

It doesn’t have many keys though, but you can figure it out I’m sure, being more musically inclined than myself. It should arrive in May for about $67.

The microKORG is said to be the world’s best selling synthesizer. The new microKORG XL has the same great features and uses a more capable effects processor, has improved key response and a gooseneck microphone for instant vocoding.

You can use a USB cable to connect the microKORG XL to your computer. The three performance edit knobs offer fast, effective editing in performance. and you can use the free sound editing software to organize your sounds and edit all of the parameters from your computer.

I guess to Korg size doesn’t matter, since they’re flaunting their tiny USB keyboards. It’s Korg’s new line of nanoSeries USB keyboards, that measure just 320mm across, and are super slim too. The line consists of a tiny keyboard, synth pad and fader deck. All of the drum pads apparently perform just fine despite their size, though the faders seam cheap. Still, it’s perfect for the musician with tiny hands. The nanoKey will cost you about $90, while the nanoKontrol and nanoPad are both $109.

Many gaming geeks also lead a double life as musicians and they can now prepare to wet their pants, when KORG releases its DS-10 software for the Nintendo DS. KORG has taken the design concept of their MS-10 synthesizer and added a four part drum module, two analog synth simulators, a 6-track/16-step sequencer and made use of the touchscreen. Plus a bunch of other cool features.

Damn, I wish I had some musical talent. It might also help if I lived in Japan, which I don’t. That’s where they will be releasing it at a price of 4,800 yen ($47) this July. You know, back in my day, music geeks always got picked on. Well, now they are having the last laugh as a lot of cool tech is being made just for them. Video below.
