Luxeed LED keyboard hits the U.S.
The Luxeed multi-color LED keyboard is pretty awesome looking, but it’s been impossible to get outside Korea until now. Thanks to the folks over at ThinkGeek, you can bring one home. The keyboard is powered by 430 individual colored LEDs, which can all be sequenced using the included Windows software.

You can make any of your own colorful keyboard creations and it’s available in a black or white for $199.99 each. If you want a numeric keypad, it will cost an additional $34.99 to get one with no LEDs. It’s not the Optimus Maximus, but should make typing fun again. Check out a video below.

The device will come in three models, fitting your iPod nano 3G, iPod Classic and iPod touch. Each version of the iPod Swing Speaker will cost you $30, $32 and $35. Kinda gives your iPod that Prince Charles, taxi with the doors open look you’ve been hoping for.

Mask Of Emotion: Never trust a robot head

Mask Of Emotion: Never trust a robot head
In some sort of apocalyptic robot future, we may all be required to wear one of these to hide our identities. I call the name Mr. Roboto. It’s kind of like the emoticon version of the Micheal Myers mask, whether your just cold chillin’ at the park with your dog or stabbing somebody senselessly, it’s all creepy on the outside. It’s a research project from the Digital Media Design department at Hongik University in Korea.

The idea is to hide your facial expressions so people can’t see your emotions. Those around you won’t see your face, just the LEDs of death, that form emoticons. The default setting is no expression at all, but as you interact, the display will smile etc. Imagine a few people on your street wearing these while going about their daily business. Now imagine the entire street full of them. An entire town. I’m too creeped out to continue, but the point is that you WILL see a few with an axe or a machete.

Samsung releases smallest color laser printers
One thing is always true about new devices. They get smaller. Samsung Korea has released the world’s smallest color laser printers, the CLP-315K and CLX-3175FNK. The CLP-315K is equipped with a NO-NOIS print engine that offers a resolution of 2,400 x 600 dpi, 32MB of internal memory, 16 pages per minute(black) and 4 pages per minute in color. This one is 20% smaller than the previous CLP-300 model.

The company also released the CLX-3175FNK laser printer with built-in scanner and fax. It’s 40% smaller than the previous CLX-3160 series. With this printer, you can easily scan documents to USB memory or print documents stored on USB sticks, camera phones and digital cameras without the PC. Until we see something still smaller, these hold the title for now.

Sky Quilt cell phone looks cottony soft
Sky just introduced the IM-S310L slider handset known as the Quilt in Korea. The idea here is that it actually sorta resembles a quilt. It should appeal to grandmothers and other women who long to squeeze the Charmin, with it’s diamond patterns and a look comfortable enough to touch.

Features include: 2.4″ QVGA display, 1.3 megapixel camera, LED lighting, MP3 playback, Electronic dictionary, and BankOn service. The Sky Quilt will be available in white, black and pink colors, retailing for under $400.

LEXON slider Jet Calculator

LEXON slider Jet Calculator
People use calculators less and less these days thanks to the function being built into other devices like cell phones etc. But if you are the rare scientific nerd or number cruncher who still needs one, why not calculate in style with a sort of Cadillac of calculators.

The Jet Calculator from LEXON should appeal to design-minded consumers who need a standalone model. It’s made from aluminum alloy and comes in silver or gold finish. The sliding screen is fairly useless and it still has plastic keys with a generic LCD…Not exactly the cadillac of calculating after all, but it does have a certain style. They will be available in Korea in April for about $42 and $53.

Thinkware iNAVI K2 GPS looks like a game
While everyone was focused on Dash Express, Thinkware has launched a new navigation device with a lot of 3G graphic awesomeness. The display actually looks like a video game, so don’t get confused behind the wheel and start mowing people down. The iNAVI K2’s detailed 3D maps are rendered in a photo-realistic way on it’s 4.8-inch 800 x 480 pixel screen.

It uses a three-axis sensor to detect the actual direction changes of your vehicle. It has 8GB SDHC memory, 256MB of its own RAM, multimedia functions, photo viewing and it also really plays games. It’s available in Korea for $556. Oh what the hell, start mowing people down in this new crazy GPS game. Maybe there’s a way to track your friend’s vehicles and you can race around the city.
