Posted in PSP by Conner Flynn on May 25th, 2009

Sony PSP Extended Life Battery KitThis battery kit was originally announced back in November of 2007. The PSP Extended Life Battery Kit promised to give you about 20 percent more battery life for $45. Then, it seemed that Sony pulled the thing in 2008.

Anyhow, now it’s back. You can find the PlayStation Portable Extended Life Battery Kit back on Sony’s website for $44.99. Looks like they are Backordered at the moment, but you can always get in line. You can always use more battery life.

KIT Eco Charger for Nokia phones

Posted in Chargers by Conner Flynn on February 24th, 2009

KIT Eco Charger for Nokia phonesIf you’re a Nokia cell phone user, you’ll want to check out the KIT Eco Charger from Carphone Warehouse, now for sale in the UK for £23. The KIT Eco Charger is a bit different from other chargers in that it can turn itself off automatically once your phone is fully charged. That way, you can leave your handset connected to it as long as you like and not have to worry about wasting electricity. Always a good thing.

According to a company spokesperson, “If everyone in the UK used a KIT Eco Charger we would save approximately 300,000,000 kwh of electricity per year. At an average cost of 28.5p per kwh, that would be a collective saving as a country of £85m!” Sounds pretty good. Sadly not everyone in the UK uses a Nokia.

Yorozu Audio universal speaker kit

Yorozu Audio universal speaker kitThe Yorozu Audio universal speaker kit asks, “Got milk?” And if you do, you too can have this speaker. In fact, you can turn just about anything lying around into a speaker. This device relies on a vibrating sonic transducer that takes audio from your portable media player or sound system, then sends it to an attached inanimate object.

It’s all about resonance, but don’t expect great audio. It will cost you $56.30 to impress all your milk drinking friends, but if you ask me it just looks like a fancy heart monitor for dairy products.

Antique Vampire killing kit

Posted in News by Conner Flynn on November 16th, 2008

Antique Vampire killing kitUsually our focus is on shiny new gadgetry, but let’s not forget gadgets of old. In this case a Vampire killing kit that has likely put to rest one hell of a lot of undead mo-fos in it’s time. This 200-year-old vampire killing kit was recently sold at an auction in Missisippi, where the bid ended at a staggering $14,850! That’s a pretty expensive way to kill a Vampire.

In the kit you get such useful tools as: A cross, Bible, Hand gun and silver bullets(In case you get confused and set out after a Werewolf), Holy oils, Holy water, Mirrors, Candles, Garlic, Wood and metal stakes. I’m not sure who the buyer was, but I’m guessing some vampire in Mississippi is in for some serious pain.

Wii RapidFire hack adds firepower

Wii RapidFire Kit by Acidmods.COM from CyberPyrot on Vimeo.
Here’s a pretty simple Wiimote hack that will take you back in time and get you all nostalgic for those days when the NES Advantage gave you “turbo” fire while playing the classics. Is it cheating? We don’t care. It was awesome and many games fell to the magic of turbo-firing. The hack even makes your Wiimote look cool with a new LED light, but mostly you’ll have rapid fire on virtually every wii game.

R2 Fish School Training Kit

R2 Fish School Training KitFor those who want to train their fish to do all kinds of un-fish-like stuff, check out this R2 Fish School Training Kit that’s got nothing to do with R2-D2. I’m guessing it’s for those who want to enter there fish in the fish Olympics. It was created by noted fish-training expert, Dr. Dean Pomerleau and the R2 Solutions team.

The kit employs basic marine mammal training techniques. Basically if you promise them food, they’ll do all kinds of tricks. Who knew? It’s like the whole What Would You Do For A Klondike Bar?, but with fish. Your little pets will learn how to limbo, slalom, fetch, play basketball, jump through hoops, and more. If the fish Olympics don’t exist yet, they will soon and I’ll be right there betting on guppies playing Basketball. At least until various steroids scandals hit. $39.95 gets you into the shady world of fish training.

Assemble Your Own Pen is too much DIY

Assemble Your Own Pen is too much DIYI thought that buying prepackaged goods was supposed to make life easier, but I guess I was wrong. However those who are completely obsessed with DIY will probably appreciate this and find it fun. The Falter 2D pen makes you work to have your pen and write with it.

The DIY assembly kit even comes with a flat piece of iron that you’ll fold into your pen holder. At $39, you could probably save yourself some trouble and just lift a pen from the next cubicle. Leave 5 bucks if you feel bad you’ll still be better off. Apparently the Falter is handmade in Italy. Just not completed. That’s up to you. Me, I have enough to do already.

Vudu goes wireless

Vudu goes wireless
Most devices come with wireless capabilities, whereas the Vudu broadband video-on-demand box requires an Ethernet connection. As of today, that’s no longer the case as a wireless option is available for Vudu. The Vudu Wireless Kit is a pair of transceivers that creates an 802.11g wireless connection between the Vudu and your broadband router.

Those who already own Vudu can get the kit for $79. The other option, for new customers, is to buy the Vudu Wireless Kit bundle for a price of $349. It’s what many have been waiting for, but we’d like to see it at a slightly lower price.

Wooden nixie clock is totally tubular…dude
I’m not going to make any wood jokes. No jokes about having your tubes tied either. I promise. We have a soft spot for these wood Nixie clocks. They just blend the modern with the old so nicely, you can’t help but fall in love with them. They just have style and they fit in anywhere you can think to put one.

You have to buy it as a kit and put it together yourself, but hey, that just gives you something to brag and be proud about when it’s finished. If you aren’t that handy and don’t think you can handle putting together it’s 115 parts, I guess you’ll just have to admire it from afar.

Bluetooth Flying Saucer handsfree Kit

Bluetooth Flying Saucer handsfree Kit
Here’s another in a great line of UFO shaped products. Honestly, it doesn’t take a whole to impress me. Just make the thing like a UFO, put UFO in the name and I’m good. Mulder and Scully may even visit me. This Bluetooth enabled Flying Saucer is a hands free kit for mobile phones which allows you to remotely operate your mobile with out a hassle in your car or office.

The UFO has Bluetooth 1.2 with a range of 10 meters. Echo and noise suppression technology increase the quality of calls. To make a call you can use the voice dialing features on your mobile. It’s battery powered with a built-in lithium ion battery.

Rubik’s Cube speed cubing kit
The current world record stands at 9.18 seconds. Think you’re geek enough to beat that? That’s no easy task, Poindexter. But if you really want it and you are willing to train like a Nerd Rocky Balboa, this new kit can help.

The official Rubik’s Speed Cubing Kit has some completely legal tricks to help you out. (legal as defined by world record standards.) The kit includes a bottle of lubricant, not so much for if you get yourself all excited, but more to help reduce the friction on the moving parts. It also includes a few screwdrivers for loosening the joints. You even get a manual on how to become a professional cuber, but it’s in Japanese. It’s going to take the eye of the tiger, but you can do it. You can win Rock…

Inflatable Wii accessory kit deflates your dignity

Posted in Wii Accessories by Conner Flynn on March 2nd, 2008

Inflatable Wii accessory kit
We’ve seen our share of Wii accessories. They range from awesome to completely bizarre. This inflatable combat set, for example is bizarre. Who in their right mind is going to suffer the humiliation of using inflatable weapons while playing a Wii game?

You can try your best to beat Zelda and get involved in the game, but you will only be distracted by the huge clumsy sack of air in your hand. Oh, and the laughter from those who love you nearby. Still, if you like inflatible gaming, you can get the kit for $25.78. Maybe your Blow up doll can finally join in on the Wii fun, while you’re at it.
