iPhone 3.0 OS reveals new iPhones, iPods |
There are always rumors of a new iPhone model, but how about two new iPhone models and a couple of new iPod touches? It looks like a deconstruction of the beta 3.0 build provided to developers this week has uncovered product code “iPhone2,1″ found before plus a newer, “iPhone3,0.”
The iPhone 3G is identified as “iPhone1,2,”. The current iPod touch is “iPod2,1″, but models “iPod2,2″ and “iPod3,1″ have both been rooted out of the binary. We would likely see new iPhone models in June.


Check out this pair of iPods that have been turned into iPod speakers. The original iPod scroll wheels were removed and replaced with a pair of speakers. This particular DIY project is a bit expensive at around $100 (he needed to replace both the front and back panels since the old ones had too many scratches to count), although I don’t see why a smart shopper couldn’t do it for a bit less.
Toys ‘R’ Us long known as the place where a kid can be a kid, will now be offering iPods and Eee PCs. They aren’t new to electronics, but they’ve never been big on gadgetry in general, except for their Zune sales that began last year. 

An outfit by the name of PDASmart has announced a longer running battery specifically designed for the iPod 5G 30 GB model. This battery upgrade will run you around $75.
Lionsgate said today it is working with Apple to make use of the latter’s Digital Copy for iTunes so select DVDs will also be available for digital viewing. The first Lionsgate film to get the iTunes treatment will be Rambo on May 27th.
