And the world has another iPod dock. At least Yamaha’s new TSX-W80 iPod dock has a retro flair, sporting some actual knobs. It includes an AirWired cradle that will allow you to use your iPod or iPhone as a remote, a dock on the main unit to charge your iPod, and it’s available in three different colors that have matching LED displays.
Yamaha’s new TSX-70 is a simpler and less fancy affair with no AirWired controller, but you still get the standard iPod dock and the basic clock radio functions. Nothing on a release yet, but both should be available to knob turners in Japan soon.





This iPod speaker dock from Taiwan’s Nova has a transparent, waterproof covering that looks like a tube of some sort of lotion or gel, complete with a whole in the end where it would hang on display at the store. The idea is to provide a waterproof speaker system for your iPod that lets you bring it into the shower. It also looks like you might even be able to control the iPod through the case but in reality to us it looks like just a cheap way to try to make a waterproof dock.
Here’s an iPod dock that took the design path a little less traveled and it appears the results have turned out nicely. The Shanling MC-30 iPod Music Center combines a CD player, AM/FM tuner, iPod dock and a tube power amp into a compact and sharp looking brushed aluminum frame.
