Panasonic has unveiled their latest iPod docks from their D-Dock series. Dubbed the Panasonic SC-HC4 and HC3, these slim iPod docking stations pack in a digital amplifier delivering 20Watts × 2 channels output, an AM/ FM tuner, CD player and a SD card slot.

The speakers are made from high quality Bamboo fiber to make them lightweight and capable of delivering deep sound. The Panasonic SC-HC4 will be available in silver, pink and black for 40,000 Yen (or $450) and the Panasonic SC-HC3 will be available in silver for 35,000 Yen (or $400).

Today’s iPod dock of the day award goes to the Hard Rock Cafe’s very own iPod Dock. I guess it makes sense for them to offer one up. The limited edition Hard Rock MP3 Retro Radio features an FM digital tuner and an iPod dock that supports every generation including the iPhone 3G and iPod Touch.

Does anyone not already own an iPod dock by now? Well if you’ve been waiting for a dirt cheap iPod dock, get in the game already with this one. You can connect your other non-Apple MP3 players, CD players or other audio devices to the speaker via the audio line-in cord and it’s powered by 4 AA batteries.

If you’re looking for a boring and plain iPod dock and you are prepared to spend a small fortune on it, this one is for you. For $379.99, you can get the “high-end” Wadia 170i Transport iPod dock.

It’s the first product to offer the iPod’s audio output over S/PDIF coaxial (RCA), DVD quality video via component outputs, which is cool, but this thing is super boring design-wise. It’s a simple aluminum chassis. Audiophiles will love it, but not to look at.

Well, we all loved Regen’s Renu solar-powered iPod dock, but this guy pictured above towers over it. It’s called the Reverb and it’s 3-feet tall, living solely to crank out 60 watts of power using the power of the sun.

This bad boy will play your music for 4.5 hours at full volume or 12 hours at a normal volume. BUT, it takes 20 hours of outdoor sun exposure (or 40 hours indoor) to get a full charge. If you are not the patient type, the Reverb can be powered using a regular electrical socket.

These new Barbie iPod docks are great if you live in an oversized Malibu dreamhouse, have never grown up and are female. If you fit that description, these Barbie iPod docks are for you. All of that pink is sure to annoy the Ken in your life however.

In all there are 4 new Barbie iPod docking stations and all function as alarm clocks while advertising the Barbie doll brand. Depending on which models you choose, they will retail from $19.99 to $79.99.

The RotariPhone is an iPod dock and speaker system built into an old rotary phone. It’s alot like this one from last December, but it looks more polished.

Just put your iPod in the cradle where you’d normally hang up the phone. The handset sits on its side and plays your music through where the phone’s speaker and mic used to be. It’s an awesomely retro design, and when not in use looks like a standard phone.

And the iPod dock of the day award goes to the JVC XS-SR3 Series which is available in either white or black. It covers the entire iPod range: mini, nano, photo, video, classic and touch. And it’s nice looking too, with a retro flair.

The XS-SR3 features two 2.5W cradle speakers, an analog and digital external input, DSP and Virtual Dolby Surround for added audio quality. Your purchase also gets you a remote control so you don’t ever have to get up again to change tracks.

Yamaha has another iPod dock up their sleeves with the launch of the PDX-60 iPod Dock, which connects to your iPod or iPhone via Yamaha’s yAired wireless technology, using a small wireless transmitter attached to your iPhone or iPod.

It also comes with a cradle for your iPhone or iPod that will charge your device, and a small card type remote. It’s compatible with all models of the iPhone as well as the iPod Touch, iPod Classic and iPod Nano.

LG has announced a new home theater system. The LG HB954SP Blu-ray HCS offers Full HD 1080p video and 5.1 surround, with 1,000W of audio tuned by audio-wizard Mr Mark Levinson. It features a slide-out dock in front for your iPod or iPhone, and you can control it from the HB954SP’s own remote.

The system can also upscale standard definition DVDs up to 1080p. The ethernet connection connects it to the internet for streaming YouTube and BD Live content. You’ll also get two HDMI inputs and a USB port. If you haven’t jumped onto the HTIB bandwagon, this might entice you with it’s touch of blue and globular speakers.

The Sharper Image is starting to out some of their products again. Here we have 19 and 22 inch LCD TVs, each with an iPod Dock and DVD Player. The TSI-LCD22DVDi LCD sports a built in DVD player, USB, SD card reader and an iPod dock.

It looks pretty close to the JVC LCD TV’s that have the same feature. Other features include HDMI, PC Audio, VGA, component, S-Video, and RCA inputs. If 22″ is not the optimal size for you, Amazon has the same model in a 19″ version.

The new LG FB44 iPod docking station was unveiled during IFA 2009 and it’s a sexy little unit. The iPod dock provides a total output of 40-watts. That should be plenty for listening to all of your music in an average sized room.

The device also supports DVD playback with 1080p upscaling and they’ve thrown in a HDMI port, so you can connect the LG FB44 to your HDTV. The LG FB44 also has a USB port for direct playback from USB Flash drives. We don’t have any info on pricing or availability just yet.

One of the better iPod docks that I have tested in recent years was the cool (and pointy) Bowers & Wilkins Zeppelin. The only real downside to that thing was that it was very large for a speaker dock. I guess B&W felt the same way and the company has unveiled a new smaller Zeppelin Mini iPod dock.

Ironically, the only simularity between the original Zeppelin and the new Zeppelin Mini is the name. The Mini has a rotating docking arm that allows the iPod to be turned to landscape mode for viewing album art. The device also has a USB port to allow you to stream music from PMPs attached via USB as well as your Mac or PC.

Bose has seen fit to park an iPod in front of a monolith. This thing must weigh 20 pounds. The subwoofer is the size of a child’s head. And it costs $600. Yet they still call it an iPod dock. It’s about a foot tall. It’s not really all that portable, which I guess it isn’t supposed to be.

The dock connector can be swapped out to suit different players, or, for an extra $150 you can get a stereo Bluetooth adapter. Bose also threw in a composite video port, so you can see photos and videos on your TV.

Wow. We are really seeing some actual cool iPod docks this week. Yamaha’s latest are amazing looking. It’s not just looks either, it’s made with metal, not plastic and apparently that doesn’t hurt the audio quality very much. In fact it is said to have a very rich sound and the “highs aren’t tinny like most—and there’s some nice bass response”.

What strikes us most about the MCR-140 is the awesome retro look, but some other features include: a wireless transmitter that attaches to the bottom of your iPod and streams music using Yamaha’s “uncompressed” wireless tech instead of using Blueooth. The MCR-040 (the orange one) is the exact same unit, but not wireless. They also handle CD, FM and USB.

The first thing you may notice about the SRS-GD50iP is the oversized subwoofer. Which makes the whole setup look a bit odd. Despite that, Sony is all about convergence here, with the speakers able to serve as a 2.1 PC set via USB. They can also use the same connection to sync up and charge your Apple device if you like.

The SRS-GD50iP features 60 watts of power and comes with a really tiny remote control to make that subwoofer look even more menacing. The entire setup will run you $199 and it can be had right now.
