As expected Apple has announced its latest iLife ’11. iMovie, iPhoto and GarageBand have all been updated. iMovie ’11 will introduce audio editing options as well as one step effects. The People Finder function makes it easier to identify individuals in movie clips, and is a good tool for budding movie makers.

Apple has also thrown in FlexTime, Groove Matching, additional guitar and amp effects, new piano and guitar lessons and other improvements to make the software more usable than before.

iPhoto’s face detection may be better then we thought. Who could blame it for pointing out an adorable face in this batch of unbaked cookies. After all it has ears, eyes, a nose and a mouth. It looks like a delicious mutant teddy bear.

It’s nice to know that iPhoto isn’t prejudiced against non-human faces. I think I also see one that looks like Winston Churchill. In fact many of them look like lumpy fleshy old men. What will iPhoto spot next?
