Apple PayOne of the major announcements coming out of Apple’s meeting on Tuesday was another anticipated technology from both retailers and consumers called Apple Pay. This feature will be built into the iPhone 6 coming later this month and the Apple Watch being released early next year.

The iPhone 6 will also incorporate Touch ID to get the fingerprint of the consumer for added security and Apple also included something called the Secure Element, which is a dedicated chip to store encrypted payment information on the device.

In order to help with adoption, which has been difficult with this type of technology in the past, Apple is making it easy to incorporate your …

Cloak App Helps Avoid Social Interaction

Posted in Mobile Apps by Darrin Olson on March 22nd, 2014

Cloak Mobile AppWhile most applications involving social media encourage interaction, Cloak is an anti-social app developed to help individuals avoid interaction.

Cloak is a mobile app for iOS (iPad, iPhone, iPod touch) that will query posts on Foursquare and Instagram for individuals that you specify, or for everyone in your social network, and try to identify their last known location. Individuals that were recently nearby will show up on a map identifying where they recently were so you can go somewhere else. After about four hours the locations time off and no longer show, assuming the individual you want to avoid has moved on.

The app currently only interacts with Foursquare and Instagram, so your anti-target must utilize one of these services for the system to work but the creators hope to integrate with other social media services soon including Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Snapchat …

Reporting earnings for its June quarter last Thursday, AT&T said it sold 3.6 million iPhones, which is more than the 3.2 million it sold during same period last year.

Verizon has sold 2.3 million in its second quarter. Together, the two carriers activated 11.7 million in the first half of 2011, that’s just 3.5 million under AT&T’s total iPhone sales for all of 2010. Remember this is a phone that’s been available for about a year already.

Adapter Lets You Use Any DSLR Lens With Your iPhone

Posted in iPhone Accessories by Conner Flynn on July 7th, 2011

Seems too good to be true, but a new adapter now allows you to use any DSLR lens from either Nikon or Canon with your iPhone. Any DSLR lens can be attached to your iPhone: Telephoto, wide angle, macro, etc which allows for custom control over the depth of field and manual focus.

It comes with two loopholes on each end of the case to tie on a camera strap. Pretty neat even if it looks weird using this. It’s just $190 for either the Nikon or Canon version.

AT&T will replace the phone within the next business day in most cases with either a new or remanufactured phone but is limiting the number of claims to two within 12 months.
