Here’s one for you weary road travelers who use your iPhone 3GS as your main navigation device while driving. TomTom has introduced a car kit for the iPhone 3GS in the UK Apple Store and it’s available for pre-order.

It will run you £100 along with an up to a three week wait before shipping gets underway. For that price, you get the TomTom navigation app for your iPhone 3GS or 3G and a docking kit to keep your iPhone secure on your dashboard or windshield.

If you are looking to control your iPhone 3GS via voice control, but don’t want another wire getting in your way, you may be in luck starting next month. That’s when BudsGoBlue will be launching a set of Bluetooth earbuds for the iPhone that will act as headphones and a Bluetooth headset.

Amidst rumors of overheating iPhones since shortly after the iPhone 3GS was launched, Apple has finally released the first acknowledgment that there might really be an issue with the iPhone regarding excessive temperatures. Various sites on the internet have posted reports of problems with the iPhone due to excessive heat such as shortened battery life, shut downs and even discoloration of the device itself. Now Apple has officially issued a warning about operating and storing the iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS in places with too much heat.

Apple suggests to only operate the iPhone 3G and 3GS in temperatures between 32º to 95º F (0º and 35º C) and to only store the device between temps of -4º to 113º F (-20º and 45º C). Using or storing the iPhone in temperatures beyond this range can cause the device to stop charging (which could explain a shortened battery life), a dimmer display or a weak signal.

With all the coverage and anticipation that built up along with Apple’s WWDC, it is hard to have missed that fact that Apple unveiled a new iPhone yesterday called the iPhone 3GS. The new phone will offer turn-by-turn driving directions and more.

iLuv has announced that it will be offering accessories specifically for the 3GS including cases and a windshield mount kit. The cases available for the phone include the iLuv iCC77 Flex-Clear Case.
