HD Radio now standard in all Rolls-Royce cars |
Rolls Royce. The name is all about luxury, elegance and an expensive price tag. So normal radio simply will not do in their automobiles. That’s why they’ve gone and made HD radio standard on all of the vehicles they offer. Well, let’s be honest, it’s the least they can do at those prices.
The move makes Rolls-Royce one of just two car manufacturers to offer HD radio standard. The other is Volvo. Audi and Mercedes-Benz will be playing follow the in 2011, when they offer HD radio themselves.

Plain old radio is hurting a bit of late with stiff competition from satellite radio and digital tracks that are replacing normal radio in cars for many drivers. HD Radio is looking more and more like it’s here to stay as consumer companies slowly develop products which pick up the radio industry’s answer to satellite radio. The latest of these, and apparently also the first auto manufacturer putting out cars in the United States with this technology, is Volvo.
With the increase in HD radio stations around the country and lower costs in making HD radios, Sony has jumped on board and will be offering their version of an HD radio in July of this year.
