Kill the undead with the Zombie Shooting Gallery

Posted in Toys by Conner Flynn on October 27th, 2009

Kill the undead with the Zombie Shooting GalleryZombies are constantly in the news these days. Or they would be, if it wasn’t a conspiracy run by the media. Anyhow, with so many zombies on the loose, you have to practice and keep your aim sharp. After all, if you fail to get a headshot, you may get bitten and become one yourself.

Video games are good practice. So is this Zombie Shooting Gallery. Keep it in the office and unleash your fury on tons of undead while killing time as well. You have to kill the zombie that pops out or it eats a human hostage. The zombies will pop in and out faster as it continues.

42″ Flatscreen TV turned into a working iPhone costumeThese guys win any and all costume contests hands down. That’s because Reko Rivera and John Savio created these awesome costumes using a real 42″ LCD TV. The TV’s are connected to their iPhones which are docked just above the TV.

It will show whatever the iPhone display shows. It’s absolutely brilliant. But it must be hard wearing those televisions, which weigh 85 pounds each. Then there’s the weight of the batteries to power them and the wires and iPhone.

Botropolis: This week in robotsHappy Friday human readers. The way I see it, there are two kinds of humans: Those who mind their own damn business and those who create robots that will one day gut us, stuff us with candy, hang us from a tree and beat us senseless until candy comes pouring out. Thanks Science. Here’s some of what we covered over at Botropolis this week:

Sexy Witch iPod holder

Sexy Witch iPod holderHere’s one for all of you who like to have your little Halloween decorations on display. It’s a sexy witch that will hold your iPod. Wait. What the hell? What exactly is going on here? Is that witch having her way with that iPod?

She’s definitely giving it a tickle with the tip of her broom. I suppose it would be far dirtier if the broomstick was going the opposite way. That iPod is just sitting back and enjoying itself. The earbuds are just watching the whole bizarre thing unfold.

10 Awesome Robot Halloween Pumpkins

Posted in Robots by Conner Flynn on October 12th, 2009

Halloween PumpkinsHalloween is almost here and while we all have a healthy fear of witches, ghosts, monsters and zombies, it’s robots that we should really be afraid of. Robots are capable of killing every creature on that list and then turning on us.

That’s why I’m proposing that we phase out all of the old monster decorations and Jack-o-lantern faces and replace them with robots. If you don’t fear them now, you will wish you had feared them sooner one cool October night when a red-eyed robot TPs a house with your intestines.

Scare Trick-or-Treaters with a Rovin’ Pumpkin this Halloween

Posted in DIY by Conner Flynn on October 9th, 2009

Scare Trick-or-Treaters with a Rovin' Pumpkin this HalloweenSure, you could always pump out the sound effects, buy some crappy paper monster decorations and put out a bucket of dry ice, but that stuff isn’t scaring anyone these days. You know what’s scary? Moving pumpkins, that’s what.

I see a pumpkin moving on it’s own and I’m out of there, candy or no candy. The Rovin’ Pumpkin uses Lego and a motor to get around, and anyone standing on your porch will be scared when it starts coming toward them.

10 Ghoulish Halloween iPhone apps

Posted in iPhone Accessories by Conner Flynn on October 7th, 2009

ispyWhat better way to celebrate Halloween then with an iPhone app or 10. Below are 10 of our favorites. All are ghoulishly good fun and will get you in the Halloween spirit. Plus, these will give you something to do while you are hiding in your house, pretending you aren’t home and eating all the candy yourself. You disgust me. But if you share some of that chocolate, I won’t tell.

Broomba autonomous broom only sweeps your wallet clean

Posted in Holiday by Conner Flynn on July 21st, 2009

Broomba autonomous broom only sweeps your wallet cleanNow calm down Harry Potter fans. You won’t be able to play Quidditch on this thing. And no, you don’t invite this into your home in order to entice your witch wife to take a long ride far away from you. In fact, this broom won’t even clean your floor like a Roomba.

It will just scare guests next Halloween, by moving around the room to “spooky” music and “frightful” cackling sounds. Only $39. When it drives you so nuts that you snap it in half over your knee, I imagine it will feel very satisfying.

Skull Beer Funnel for Halloween drinking fun

Posted in Holiday by Conner Flynn on October 30th, 2008

Skull Beer Funnel for Halloween drinking funIn keeping with the spirit of the season, here’s something to help you get drunk that also doubles as a creepy prop. It’s a Skull Beer Funnel with spinal column attached. If you’re the Predator, just pass on this one and go rip your own from some human. Humans, it’s illegal to do what the Predator does, so don’t do it. Buy this instead.

It’s Halloween, which means that it’s perfectly acceptable to guzzle some brew from human remains for God’s sake. When you get too drunk on the way home, it doubles as a handy vomit-catcher. It’s all cool. It’s how Grim Reapers party.

Blood Puddle pillows are perfect for Halloween

Posted in Holiday by Conner Flynn on October 30th, 2008

Blood Puddle pillows are perfect for HalloweenThe blood puddle pillow is the ideal way to start your Halloween morning. I would suggest substituing this pillow for your regular pillow while your wife is sleeping. She’ll wake up to a surprise and start Halloween with a nice healthy scare. It’s not everyday she wakes up next to you laying in a puddle of blood.

These go well with the Roadkill carpet. These are made by artist Keetra Dean Dixon. And though it may be a bit late for this Halloween, there’s no reason you can’t be ready for next year.

Master Chief costume is $629 of awesomeness

Posted in Halo by Conner Flynn on October 27th, 2008

Master Chief costume is $629 of awesomenessThis Master Chief costume is pretty freakin’ realistic. You have to have it, but spending $629 on a costume that you are only going to wear on Halloween night is insane. That’s why I recommend wearing it to the grocery store, the DMV, maybe to the movies. You’re gonna wanna get a lot of use out of it. Heck, maybe do some kids parties. Everybody loves Master Chief. It’s a fully licensed costume. You get a quilted jumpsuit/EVA armor, gauntlets, boot tops and a two-piece helmet. This thing has to be great for picking up gamer babes.

The iPhone Jack-O-Lantern is versatile

Posted in iPhone by Conner Flynn on October 19th, 2008

Seems like every time you turn around, the iPhone gets even more versatile. Is there anything it can’t do? Check this out. This iPhone Jack-O-Lantern is created with an application known as Crazy Pumpkin. It basically lets you customize your iPhone’s display into cool Pumpkin faces. Sadly, you won’t want to set it outside for some kid in a robot costume to steal. Sure, they aren’t as awesome as these pumpkins, but pretty cool.
