Android Pillows

Posted in Android by Conner Flynn on March 10th, 2010

We know that your Android obsession knows no bounds. So while trying to collect all of the various toys and stay abreast of all the latest devices rocking the platform, why not rest your head on this soft Android pillow.

The little green bot will lull you to sleep and make all of your dreams come true. And if you can’t sleep, just count bots instead of sheep. The pillow measures 12 x 12 inches and each are handcrafted by Craftsquatch for about $20.

Darth Vader disco ball hovers over nerds who can’t dance

Posted in Star Wars by Conner Flynn on March 4th, 2010

Look at the mirrored face of evil. Take a good hard look, because Star Wars could have turned out a lot different since it was made in the 70′s, when Disco ruled. Darth Vader could have been just a mirrored disco ball head on top of a polyester Leisure suit, force choking suckers on the dance floor. Thank god Lucas didn’t go that route.

There isn’t much info on this thing, but it was obviously made by nerds who like to shake their groove thing.

Space Invaders tights for the geek girl in your life

Posted in Apparel by Conner Flynn on January 14th, 2010

We love Space Invaders and if we could we would have our human women wear tights with the alien invaders on them. Well, now we can. These would make a great Valentine’s Day gift for that geek girlfriend.

They’re designed and distributed from Australia by Black Milk Clothing and they not only have the classic aliens from the game, they also show off your figure. $80 seems a bit steep, but putting a classic arcade game on your cameltoe? Priceless.

Gingerbread Star Trek Enterprise

Posted in Sci-Fi by Conner Flynn on December 21st, 2009

Tis the season for all manner of geeky desserts. We’ve seen our share around here, whether they be Star Wars or Star Trek. All are delicious if not nutritious.

Here we have the Star Trek Enterprise made of gingerbread. Apparently it lacks the necessary propulsion to keep it upright and so is kept afloat by several glasses beneath. I would love to take the first bite and cause a hull breach.

Pixel art made from bacteria

Posted in News by Conner Flynn on December 20th, 2009

Scientists must have already discovered everything they need to know, so they have plenty of time for play. This looks like a cool piece of Mario art and it is, but this is created using glowing bacteria.

These pixels are made from genetically engineered bacteria and come from Team Osaka, at the nanobiology laboratories at the University of Osaka, Japan. Now you know what all that fancy lab equipment is really being used for.

Star Trek wine glasses for the refined geekHow many times have you been sipping Romulan ale out of a juice cup and wishing that you had some proper wine glasses? You know, with the Federation logo emblazoned on them. You know that Scotty would have a pair of these at the ready in his quarters.

Only $18 on Etsy. On one hand you are a true geek, but on the other, you will now have the proper glass from which to drink alcohol. Live long and prosper, while drinking up this holiday season.

Posted in Star Wars by Conner Flynn on December 8th, 2009

R2-D2 string lights for your geek Christmas treeNothing says Christmas like a string or two of droid lights on your Christmas tree. Besides you probably already have all of the other Star Wars ornaments on your tree.

It’s like having a whole clone army of Astromechs. The little robot lights come in a set of 10 per strand and are 12 inches apart. These are priced at about $15-$25. And if you don’t want them on your tree they make great geek gifts.

Amazing Tauntaun wedding cake

Posted in Star Wars by Conner Flynn on October 25th, 2009

Amazing Tauntaun wedding cakeWe’ve seen more than our share of geekery when it comes to cakes. This one is the absolute best ever, beating even the AT-AT cake.

Just look at that detail. It’s gross and yet delicious. Look at how horrified Luke is. But at least he’s warm and alive. Just grab yourself a delicious piece of it’s entrails and eat up. Best wedding cake ever.

Steampunk Wedding Cake

Posted in Sci-Fi by Conner Flynn on October 11th, 2009

Steampunk Wedding CakeSo you’ve met a nice gal who also likes to dress up in Victorian clothes and has a love of Steampunk gadgets. You want to take the plunge and get hitched. Maybe get married in a chapel that looks like a Jules Verne submarine. What do you do for the cake?

Make it brown and put gears on it, that’s what. Lots and lots of gears. Plus some doors, rivets and panels. Make the whole thing edible. Wedding complete.

Star Wars Jedi Bath Robes

Posted in Apparel by Conner Flynn on September 27th, 2009

Star Wars Jedi Bath RobesCheck out these Jedi Bath Robes. They’re perfect for all of the nerdy Jedi secret meetings you and your friends have. You know, the ones where you re-enact classic scenes and spank each other with lightsabers saying. “Thank you sir, may I have another?”

Good times no doubt. And you’ll remain comfy through all of your shenanigans, since these Jedi robes are made of soft 100% cotton velour. Of course, the Jedi logo is embroidered on the front. And the hood is large enough that you can hide your face in shame when you wear it in public.

Each measures 4.57″ in diameter. A set of four will cost you a shocking $29.99. At least they have felt-feet to keep your tabletop unscratched. Just don’t be surprised if some Egyptian dude on a far away planet ends up with your Iced Tea.

Vacuum tube chess set

Posted in DIY by Conner Flynn on June 29th, 2009

Vacuum tube chess setThis just may be the most awesome and nerdiest chess set ever. You’re looking at Paul Fryer’s Vacuum Tube Chess set. It’s one of only seven made. The pieces actually light up when they’re plugged in to the board.

How cool is that? The only thing that sucks is that you would need to replace blown tubes from time to time, but we don’t care. We just wanna play chess with Vacuum tubes that really light up.

Pac-Man Coffee Table

Posted in Furniture by Conner Flynn on June 18th, 2009

Pac-Man Coffee TableWhen you have a table as awesome as the Pac-Man Coffee Table, you better use coasters. Or else. This table is all kinds of awesome. It’s really a superbly detailed work of ingenious geek art.

Syd Bolton from Ontario, Canada contacted designer Erin McFadden, who took a plain coffee table and turned it into this. One of the coolest geek tables ever. Now why can we not buy this kind of furniture in stores? You just know that he goes ballistic when his friends don’t use coasters. And I don’t blame him.
