Fujitsu Japan has launched an updated version of its LOOX M netbook. The latest is powered by an Intel Atom N280 processor running at 1.66 Ghz. You’ll get a 10.1 inch screen with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels and the battery that offers 2.7 to 5 hours of use.

Some other features include 1GB of RAM, Intel 945GSE Express chip set, 160GB hard drive, webcam, multi card reader and Bluetooth. It is available in Japan in four flavors: white, red, black and lavender for 59,800 Yen or $660.

If you find that you can’t get in shape on your own and need the help of a gadget, the F-09A handset from Fujitsu will help by nagging you into shape. It features a large 3.4″ touchscreen panel which is capable of sliding and rotating to access different functions, while offering an integrated Exercise Monitor that lets you know how much physical activity you’ve engaged in.

Some other features include GPS navigation, an 8.1-megapixel camera, Bluetooth connectivity, 1Seg TV and the ability to keep you connected to the net wherever you are thanks to its high-speed FOMA, 3G and GSM compatibility.

If you want to make sure that your personal information is protected, check out the latest from Fujitsu. The Secure USB Memory Device makes absolutely sure your data is secure. If you transport a lot of information from computer to computer it will be very useful.

Think of it as a thumb drive with a battery and a processor built in. You can adjust the security settings on the drive so that data will be automatically deleted after a certain period of time. Whatever you decide. Or if someone else tries t use it on another computer.

Fujitsu has finally released its color e-book. The device features an 8-inch XGA screen capable of displaying 260,000 colors, along with Bluetooth, WiFi and up to 4GB of storage via SD card. It measures less than half an inch thick.

Color isn’t the only thing. Fujitsu is promising 40 hours of continuous use. The unit can be operated by its touchscreen or the function buttons. The Japanese version of the device even includes Windows CE 5.0. FLEPia ships on April 20th in Japan for about $1,010.

I was never really into fingerprint authentication on my devices. The first thing I ever purchased with a fingerprint scanner was my Dell XPS M1330 laptop. I can safely say fingerprint authentication on my laptop sucks. It usually takes three or more swipes to get the reader to accept my fingerprints and I can log in by typing my password faster than by swiping.

Some folks really like the idea of fingerprint authentication though and Fujitsu has announced the first waterproof cell phone to offer fingerprint authentication. Why waterproof you wonder? Well, I know a lady who has dropped not one or two iPhones into the toilet, but three. Yeah that’s a crappy iPhone.

Fujitsu is showing off its brand new LifeBook FMW-BIBLO NW laptop with a secondary 4 inch touchscreen display above the keyboard and a water-cooling system.

It becomes available on December 26th, and the laptop features a 16-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 1,366×768 with a 2.40GHz Intel Core 2 Duo P8600, 2GB of memory, 320GB of HDD, an Intel GM45 Express Chipset, a Blu-ray drive, digital TV tuner, four USB ports, WiFi b/g/n, and HDMI output. The secondary display offers a resolution of 480×272. You can purchase this notebook for 250,000 Yen or about €2000.

Now here’s a claim that you don’t hear everyday. Fujitsu’s new 500 GB, 5400 RPM Hard Drive has a 2.5-inch spinner that can erase the whole of its bad self in under 1 second. It took you longer then that just to read this.

The MJA2 CH uses 256-bit advanced encryption that encodes data on the fly and it’s the first 500 GB HDD with the technology. It also gets points for being a bit more eco-friendly as the MJA2 CH drive only uses 1.4 watts of power while writing data and is considered to have eco-friendly components. The MJA2 CH HDD will surface early next year, at which point it will have permanent amnesia as it gathers data and erases itself to your heart’s content.

Fujitsu surprised us this morning with the 16-inch LifeBook N7010, which features a second four-inch touch screen above the keyboard. Fujitsu is calling the sub-display the “Touch Zone”. Interestingly, the touchscreen seems like it acts as a second monitor, so you could replace the default launcher app with anything you choose, even full-screen video. Just drag something down to it.

It’s an interesting design that should take off. Other specs include: 2.26GHz P8400 Core 2 Duo, 256MB ATI Radeon HD 3470 graphics, 4GB RAM, 320GB drive, Blu-ray, 1.3 megapixel webcam, and WiFi / Bluetooth. The Fujitsu LifeBook N7010 will start shipping on November 10th, and is available to order now in the fixed-configuration for $1,499.

And thank god, cuz that one is fugly. Makes me queasy just looking at it. Fujitsu recently intro’d the new LifeBook A1110 15.4-inch consumer- oriented notebook with a swappable lid. That way you can show your style with a green mod labyrinth, bright pink with butterflies, or a cool blue Victorian print. The green mod labyrinth pis making me dizzy.

Fujitsu’s LifeBook A1110 is powered by an Intel Centrino 2 and comes with the Core 2 Duo P7350 or T5800 processor, up to 4GB of DDR2 memory, up to 320GB of hard drive space, and a DVD burner. Some other features are a 1.3MP webcam, 802.11n wireless module, Ethernet LAN port, 56K modem, Bluetooth, three USB ports, ExpressCard and SD Card slots, and a VGA output. It only weighs 6.3 pounds and runs on Windows Vista Home Premium OS. The LifeBook A1110 retails for $799.

As usual, Japan has it going on in the advanced concept phone department. This reconfigurable Fujitsu device was shown at CEATEC and allows the user to separate the screen and touchscreen keypad however they like. This comes from a research partnership between Fujitsu and Docomo.

Both parts can be used by themselves or joined together with magnets and used horizontally or vertically. What the touchscreen shows is determined by where you stick the screen on the keypad. The screen module houses all of the software functions, which includes video recording and games. The keyboard section is responsible for other tasks, like 3G and radio. Communication between both sections is done through Bluetooth. It would be nice to see this move from concept to reality, but who knows.

Fujitsu’s got a couple of new tablet-style Windows PCs it is showcasing related to the recent Intel Centrino 2 processor. These are the LifeBook T5010 and LifeBook T1010 tablet PCs, with pricing beginning around $1,770 and $1,300, respectively.

Both the LifeBook T5010 and LifeBook T1010 tablet PCs sport 13.3-inch displays, a convertible form factor and touchscreen interfaces. You can read more about these after the jump via Fujitsu’s full press release.

Fujitsu has just released the U810 and T2010 tablet PCs. Both now come with a built-in HSPA modem and antenna for an additional $200 added to the $999 and $1,499 price for both the U810 and T2010. They still have the same 5.6-inch and 12.1-inch displays, 800MHz Intel A110 processor on the U810 and faster Core 2 Duo 7600 processor on the T2010.

Fujitsu has also added WWAN cellular data to their larger T2010 Tablet PC. 3G access will be provided by AT&T, who promises typical download speeds between 600 Kbps and 1,400 Kbps and typical upload speeds between 500 Kbps and 800 Kbps.

Fujitsu’s “Zero-Watt” Monitor uses zero power in Standby Mode. Zero. Zilch. Nada. Nothing. That’s the claim anyway, and they seem to be sticking to it. I never use standby mode myself, as I seem to be physically attached to my PC. But others will be happy to hear this news.

This seeming miracle is made possible thanks to a built-in switch that shuts down the monitor completely when a signal from the computer is absent. It brings it back to life like a mad scientist when the signal reappears, without even uttering “It’s alive”. This technology will be great for businesses, and that’s the market Fujitsu is aiming for when the monitor is released this summer. This new model will sell for the same price as conventional monitors, which is good news for your wallet.

This is Fujitsu’s idea of what a laptop should look like in the forest. Otherwise known as “We need to get on board with this whole environmental green thing. We’re missing out on a ton of hippie money, guys. We can charge more for it too.”

To me it is a bit too reminiscent of the old wood school desks and chairs. I look at this thing and I’m immediately wondering if I have any #2 pencils and if the substitute is going to be a hot babe today. I can’t see many people buying this. I’m not anti-wood, there’s just something strange about it. I suppose if the Amish suddenly start buying laptops and trading in their buggys for segways, I’ll be proven wrong. Until then, I don’t see much excitement about this concept.

A notebook hard drive sporting 320GB isn’t a new capacity and there are larger notebook drives available right now. However, what is interesting about the new 320GB Fujitsu MHZ2 BJ series notebook drive is that it spins at 7200 RPM.

Typically when a notebook hard drive gets into higher capacities it has to slow down to 5400 RPM or even less for some drives. Not so with the new Fujitsu drive, it gets to spin at full speed. Fujitsu says that the drive has an average latency time of 4.17ms and has a read seek time of 10.5ms and a write seek time of 12ms.
