Meanwhile in prosthetic foot news, a new prosthetic foot has been developed and detailed in a PLoS-One paper by Steven H. Collins (Department of Bio-mechanical Engineering, Delft University of Technology) and Arthur D. Kuo (Departments of Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering, University of Michigan).

This latest artificial foot uses a micro controller to operate a device in the foot which stores energy from the down step and then releases it on the up step, thereby mimicking the natural movement of a human ankle. So it’s an authentic fake foot. Or at least as authentic as a fake foot can be.

Would you wear a foot massager that’s really a slipper with two Hippos on it? You know you would, because massages feel great. Just don’t let anyone catch you. Ever. You don’t want it getting around the office. It’s a slipper for two feet at once, which makes it even weirder.

Oh and it comes from a company called Farting Hippo. So maybe the idea is that the vibration of hippo farts make a good massage. The question is, do you need a massage bad enough to wear this? Terrible as this is, it’s a tough call. Just don’t get caught.

The idea behind this human powered laptop recharger is that you could get juice in the outdoors or in areas where you have no AC plugs. It’s called the YoGen MaxT and it can produce 50-60 watts, which is enough to power a notebook.

Those who are on the wimpy side are covered as the device has internal AA batteries that keep the power flowing while you rest your leg. It’s great for say, camping and hiking, when you take your notebook with you. The whole thing folds up for portability, making it convenient.

Wii-Fit can be a lot of hard work I suppose. It’s all about exercise after all. Your feet probably could do with a massage during that workout. These silicone covers were specially designed to cover the Wii Fit Balance Board, and it also doubles as an anti-slip mat(Clever BS) for those of you who sweat so profusely that you often slip on your own stinky excretions.

Amazon is carrying this thing for $9.99. All I can think about is how this thing deserves it’s own late-night info-mercial right next to the Sham-wow. I’m calling BS on all it’s claims and I dare you to spend $9.99 and prove me wrong. This is just a $10 piece of silicone.

The price is a steep $61.38, but maybe it could be your new lucky charm. Sort of a modern day rabbit’s foot that holds data and occasionally grants wishes. It should be noted that if you have actual cats, they’re going to wonder who lost a paw and if they are next. I like to think that the white/pink one is a limited edition of four that they acquired after holding Hello Kitty down in a butcher’s shop, but that’s just me.
