With more electric vehicles than ever hitting the streets, we’re going to see more electric scooters. The XO2 electric scooter has some interesting features, but the most interesting is that you can fold it up, making it easy to bring indoors for charging.

It’s still pretty big when folded, but it beats getting your ride stolen because you had to leave it outside. We’re talking 60km/h for the XO2 50 Urban and 105km/h for the XO2 125 Urban. The scooter will charge up to about 80% within just a few hours, and give you about 50-70km.

Between Rock Band and Guitar Hero, it’s amazing you have any room left in your house that isn’t occupied by plastic instruments. Do you even have room for DJ Hero? Probably not. But here’s a clever solution.

This retractable Rock Band/Guitar Hero controller from NEXiLUX can fold down to a tiny size for easy storage. And it still has all the buttons you need to rock out. It’s compatible with the Wii, PlayStation 2 and PlayStation 3. Sadly there’s nothing on a price or release date just yet.

LG has announced its Design the Future competition winners, one of which was this Hi-Fi cellphone that also doubles as headphones. Supposedly when it’s folded up, it can fit into a slot in a laptop or your pocket. Unfold it and you have a fancy pair of stereo headphones.

Pretty nice. If this design concept ever finds its way to the real world, it could be a winner. LG could do itself a huge favor by thinking outside of the box and actually offering up some items like this one.

Yesterday we told you about the Pedomostick, a device that puts a pedometer in a cane, giving those who use a cane some much needed functionality. Well, the Baylis “Slik-Stik” LED Folding Walking Stick is a similar device, updating the walking stick with some useful features.

The Slikstik can wind up to light your way, so that you can be seen in the dark and stay safe. If that isn’t enough, it also makes noise. This one is a great idea. We aren’t sure why the walking stick is getting all kinds of upgrades, but we’re just glad it is. Walking stick users have never had so many options.

I’ve never been to the UK myself, mostly because I don’t trust their large and obese outlet plugs. Yep, your plugs are enough to keep me away from your country. I mean, if you can’t figure out a small plug… Well, I don’t want any part of that. The large UK plugs may soon change however, thanks to one designer.

The video is slow side, but here’s a breakdown. Like us, the UK is filled with slim electronics, but those gadgets have actually become skinnier than the required 1.8-inch-thick power plug. This new design can collapse to just 1cm (or .4 inches) when not in use, allowing it to squeeze into small bags and pockets. And no more unnecessary pressure on the prongs when your bag is set down the wrong way.

The Gerber Kick Axe is not what you use to open Gerber baby food. It’s a more portable, foldable way of having an axe on you at all times, for things like: Chopping wood, terrorizing a camp while wearing a hockey mask, disposing of bodys, and more chopping wood.

A typical horror movie scene with the old school un-foldable axe goes something like this: Killer approaches victim(slowly) with a very obvious axe in one hand. Victim runs. Crappy music and a crappy chase follow, until he hacks he/her/they up. With the new and improved axe, that same scene goes like this: Killer approaches victim(slowly), with no obvious weapon in hand. He certainly doesn’t have an axe, because axes are long and obvious. Victim does not run. Killer smiles. Hey. Hi. What’s up? Killer unfolds his axe and get’s his victim. You see what happened there? This gadget/weapon has completely done away with the chase scene with the bad music and by doing so has cut every bad horror movie down to just 30 minutes. Awesome.

This skateboard concept looks great in design and is still portable enough so that you can carry it around. That’s what this Pumpboard concept is offering. It was designed by Maciej Puzon.

The idea behind this one is that the skateboard can be folded and stashed away when you’re not using it. When you need it, just pump it back up. I imagine it might be a bit of a pain to keep folding and then re-pumping your board though. It’s still a concept at this stage, but who knows. It does have good looks if nothing else.

Depending on your point of view, this is either bizarre or amazing. This handset does just about everything and somehow stays fairly slim and compact. The iCEphone is due to be released from The Medical Phone Ltd. in the UK and the most exciting and strange thing about it is that it folds three ways. It’s a portable video game platform, GPS and smartphone all in one, plus micro notebook.

It sports a three-way hinge that allows access to a 3-inch touch screen display at 240 x 400 resolution, a QWERTY keyboard and a mouse tracker pad with gaming controls. ICE stands for “In Case of Emergency Phone.” You’ll get a 3G connection with support for GPRS and EDGE, two SIM card slots, WiFI, and a 3.1 megapixel camera. The phone runs on Windows Mobile 6.0 Pro. The iCEphone will be available in Thailand, then in the UK in the spring of next year for under $1,000.

This Suitcase is also a folding Bicycle from Happy bike, designed by believe. It’s not just a concept, it’s really for sale. The bike can be folded down into a complete suitcase and they say that you can open or fold it down in only 10 seconds. It only weighs 8-9 KG. I’m not sure that it would actually hold much as a suitcase, but if you travel light, just imagine getting off of a plane, walking through the airport and transforming your suitcase into a dork bike for the ride home.

Whether you just like to bike everywhere or you’re the 40 year old virgin, this concept sure would come in handy and you might even earn some respect for having a cool gadget type bike. The bike weighs just 5.5 KG and is 60cm in length and is stored easily in your back pack. As a bonus it even doubles as a hand cart.

Some of the bike features include a headlight, back light and turn signals. The whole thing looks pretty unsafe if you ask me. You’re not going survive any kind of impact. In fact, you’ll probably get severely hurt hitting a pot-hole. It’s just a concept for the moment.
