Dyzplastic’s Android figurines

Posted in Android by Conner Flynn on February 2nd, 2010

Android is all the rage. If only you had some cute action figures to display your love for the OS. Well, now you can. Artist Andrew Bell has partnered with Google to release a series of authorized Android robot figurines, starting with an initial run of 12 designs in blind boxes.

You’ll want to collect them all because these guys look adorable. The figures stand 3 inches tall and have articulating heads and arms. They will be available starting the 10th of this month.

Measurement Gloves keep measurements at your fingertips

Measurement Gloves keep measurements at your fingertipsSome things in life are tough. Like math. Measurements. These handy gloves will save you a ton of calculating, ensuring that you always have the proper figures “on hand”. They feature all sorts of measurements and angles allowing you to make measurements on the go.

They’re for the Bob Villa types who have the will, but lack the brain-power. Remember, measure twice, cut once. That’s the rule that comes in most handy. Sadly the purpose of these gloves are lost when you lose a finger or two in the band saw.

Poken USB figures exchange contacts with huge hands

Poken USB figures exchanges contacts with huge handsThese weird little figures are called Poken. They let you exchange contact details with someone else in a physical way. With high fives. And hey, Poken are cute. Why the hell not? The USB device comes in four varieties: bee, alien, panda and flaming skeleton. Odd combination to be sure, but I’m assuming they all get along just swell.

Just put your Poken’s hand up to your buddy’s, then when you plug yours into a USB port later, your friend’s contacts will automatically sync to your Poken account, which propogates to Facebook, MySpace and other networks. I’m sure it will all work out fine, because surely everyone that you know also has a Poken. Which is a requirement.

The evolution of LEGO Miniman

Check out this video that celebrates Lego Miniman’s 30th anniversary. From Star Wars to disco to the fall of the Berlin wall, it’s a walk down memory lane that stimulates the geek pleasure centers of the brain.

Enjoy my geek friends. Enjoy. Unless you grew up with those Duplo blocks, in which case your parents are cheap beyond belief. You must be traumatized by all the cool stuff you missed.

X-men Papercraft figures are fairly awesome, still Uncanny

X-men Papercraft figures are fairly awesome, still UncannyThese paper toys are cute and they aren’t afraid to do battle with paper villains. But paper cuts can be deadly to them. You can download them at harlancore for free, print them out and start folding one. After that, just play with them on your desk. There’s Spiderman, Cyclops, Wolverine, Magneto and Professor X. And they are all sticking their tongues out at you. There are more characters available as well, like Storm, Beast etc. Nerd toys don’t get much cuter.

Cute Munny speaker dolls

Cute Munny speaker dolls
At first these cute speakers appear to be mass produced and expensive, but that’s not the case. They are actually home made by a Flickr pool member, Fungus Amungus. It’s probably one of the simpler DIY projects you could undertake, since you basically just attach the speakers to the head of a Munny figure.

The important thing is that they look awesome. There really isn’t much info on the actual specs of the speakers, but I want to see the design mass produced. They have a lot of personality and almost seem to be saying, “Can you hear me now?”, while also plotting your demise.
