Elecom faucet iPad/iPhone stand

Posted in iPhone Accessories by Reuben Drake on August 4th, 2011

This sexy Elecom stand designed by Nendo is pretty unusual and cool. It’s not very practical, but at least it looks stylish. It’s made from polycarbonate and ABS faucet parts and is designed to look like a faucet with water flowing out of it.

It will be available in clear, black, blue and white, but there is no word price or the availability. It is certainly unique.

A faucet with a new twist

A faucet with a new twistMost faucets don’t require a lot of work. Just open the valve and you get a steady stream of water. But environmentalists worry that the fresh water supply will become a shortage in the future.

So we need something that will make us think about how much water we are using. That’s why designer Harvey Bewley created this Twist Faucet. The Twist makes you work for your water by cranking the knob in and out. Thereby reminding you that water is a precious resource. It also has a digital readout that shows your consumption, along with water temperature.

Shifter faucet lets you change gears

Shifter faucet lets you change gears from hot to coldIs your faucet a stick or an automatic? Well, now you can have a stick shift on your sink thanks to this classy-looking design. That’s right, you can now change gears on your faucet. It’s pretty stylish and will leave other faucets in the dust.

The idea is that it would allow you to shift up the amount of water coming out of the faucet. Or down. Which is great for people looking to conserve water by staying in lower “gears,” but we can’t see how the temperature is controlled so this may be a big bust. Sure, it looks awesome, but that doesn’t count for anything if all you get is cold water.

X-Touch Mixer Faucet may be too precise

X-Touch Mixer Faucet may be too preciseThe X-Touch Mixer faucet does away with antiquated analog knobs or levers and replaces them with buttons so you can regulate exactly what temperature the water is. It even has a digital readout to show you exactly what temp it is. I don’t know about you, but when I wash my hands or take a shower, I don’t put that much thought into it. You know when it feels warm enough after all. Do we really need to be so anal about water temp? Apparently so.

The X-Touch is a product of Newform Italy, and appears to be a sink faucet or a bath faucet. Either way, obsessive compulsives will love it as they can gauge when it is exactly the right temp.

Super SideBar dispenses booze quickly

Super SideBar dispenses booze quickly
I’m not much of a drinker myself, but I can understand serious drinkers needing to get to their stash quickly and without delay in order to calm those shakes. Well you got it, my always intoxicated friend.

This thing here is like having a faucet full of happy water. In fact, it will dispense up to five different liquids just by touching of a button. Like I said, it’s for those who are serious drinkers with a price tag of $499. Really though, I don’t want to see you hittin’ the sauce in the AM using your kid’s juice glasses OK?
