Apparently it’s Hello Kitty’s 35th anniversary despite the fact that every year seems like an anniversary with all of the kitty branded crap that gets regurgitated onto the market like tasty gadget hairballs. This is not the first Casio digital camera we’ve seen carrying the face of HK, but the Exilim EX- Z2 is the first 12.1-megapixel version we’ve ever seen.

And what would it be if it were not covered in Swarovskis and dipped in pink? This Casio features a 2.7-inch LCD, and a 3 x optical zoom, plus it looks like the package comes with the following: a camera case, lanyard, and giant pink tribble thing.

Casio is a name more associated with watches and Hello Kitty phones than quality cell phones, but that doesn’t mean they can’t deliever one. This new 5 megapixel shooter from Casio is known as the Exilim C721, keeping the name of Casio’s line of digital cameras.

It features autofocus capability and a high resolution WVGA rotating display that makes it more natural to capture images while using a phone. The image quality and features won’t be as good as a standalone digital camera, but what are you gonna do?

Okay, I’m worn out warning the world of the impending Hello Kitty Judgment day. I’m going to just accept this pink branded camera and relax. Would I like to rid the world of a trillion pink gadgets with a cat head? Sure. But I’m one guy. I can’t stop the Kitty on my own. Even that time I traveled into the past as if looking for John Connor, but really trying to prevent the sale of the first pink product, didn’t help at all. I’m just gonna face it. This is another Kitty item from hell. There will be more where this came from too. I’m okay with it. Really.

It helps that this Hello Kitty version of the Casio Exilim line of digital cameras is a pretty decent camera, with 8.1 megapixels and 3x optical zoom, 2.6 in LCD. Oh, and it costs about twice as much as the non-HK branded version of the Exilim at $538.70. Damn! See, that just gets me going again. It must be stopped. Soon little girls everywhere will kill me, by beating me senseless with their pink devices, but I must prevent this apocalyptic future.

Casio is showing off this week a new 8.1-megapixel digital camera as part of its EXILIM line. It is called the Casio EXILIM Zoom EX-Z9 and will price around $160.

The Casio EXILIM Zoom EX-Z9, which is available this month, offers up a compact design with an included 2.6-inch LCD display screen. The camera has a number of features to entice purchasers, including over 20 shot modes, anti-shake technology and face detection.
