Gateway refreshes desktop PCs

Gateway recently unveiled some new desktop PCs - some of which are new models and the rest of which are revamps of existing PC line ups. These new computers are mostly available now, with prices ranging from around $550 to $3,500.

Gateway specifically updated or added new FX, GT and DX Series models. The one pictured above, for example, is the FX7026. All of these computers offer either Intel or AMD processors and at least one available at retail still has Windows XP. For more details, check out the full press release after the jump.

HP delivers inexpensive business desktop PC

HP Compaq dc5850 Business Desktop PC

HP recently introduced a new business-focused Compaq desktop PC which is reportedly energy efficient. It is known as the HP Compaq dc5850 Business Desktop PC and you’ll find it with a starting price of around $600.

The HP Compaq dc5850 Business Desktop PC, available now, makes use of AMD Business Class processors, including the AMD Phenom processor. You’ll also find integrated ATI Radeon 3100 graphics with support for DirectX 10 technology, standard support for dual monitors and standard support for RAID technology with data mirroring.

Alienware soups up Area-51 desktop PC

Alienware Area-51Alienware is doing a major update to its Area-51 7500 flagship system and relaunching it as the Area-51 desktop. The starting price on this monster of a gaming PC is around $2,100.

The Alienware Area-51 PC new sports the NVIDIA nForce 790i Ultra SLI-based motherboard as well as an NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GX2 dual GPU single graphics card, according to Alienware. There is also support for DDR3 memory up to 2GHz, compatibility with 1600MHz FSB Intel CPUs and higher BIOS overclocking.
