Alienware Mobile Phone design built on Android

Alienware Android PhoneTake a look at these images of an Alienware mobile phone that would be built on the Android platform. it possesses has the familiar look of the Alienware computers with a glowing grill when calls come in and a a slide-up display to reveal a touch-sensitive keypad and a joystick for mobile gaming right in the middle. We can’t disagree that this phone might be the most popular design with hardcore gamers and Star Trek fans, but probably not the biggest hit on the market. Of course we’re eager to see any phone running Android and this one is no exception, but these look to be just designs for now.

Smallest paper Nintendo DS even has tiny game

Tiny Nintendo DS Lite design made out of paperSomeone with a combined love of Nintendo’s DS and craft projects created with paper, not to mention some skills, has created what we believe to be the smallest replica of the Nintendo DS Lite. The little DS measures just 1.4 inches at its longest point and SonicScape Jun, the creator, even took the time to make a Nintendodgos game cartridge that actually fits in. The top also opens to reveal the double screens via a toothpick powered hinge.

From looking at the photos it appears that some incredible attention to detail and time was taken to make this little DS lite, but the maker of this paper design created a DIY video showing how you can make your own inside of 90 minutes with just scissors, pen knife, glue and this template. We’re thinking there is also an undisclosed prerequisite of skill that would significantly increase this time for most of us.

Heart Lamp warms more than lights

Heart Lamp design made to warmThis Heart Lamp design by Lígia Carteiro is not the heart shape we would normally expect to see, but uses a more realistic and a little less appealing likeness of the human heart. According to Carteiro, the lamp was inspired by the proverb “cold hand, warm heart” and the lamp is warm to the touch due to a 15w light bulb. It doesn’t look like it would do a great job as a lamp, however. By looking at it I think the concept would do just as well as a mouse, or a maybe a USB powered lamp?

Is frog-inspired design the future of biking?

Frog inspired bike design conceptDesigner Alex Suvajac apparently thinks so. Obviously frogs inspire him. The result is a sleek concept track bike that looks a lot like an aerodynamic racing amphibian on two wheels. It is as much a work of art as it is a bike, blending space age and technological looks with nature.

I’m not sure about leaning that far forward to hold onto the handlebars. Then again, this beauty is obviously built for speed and since “being one with nature” is obviously the theme, why not lean into it and merge with the frame. Hopefully, that doesn’t mean swallowing a bug or two along the way. As cool as this bike is, it remains just a concept for the moment. It is however, proof that nature has a lot to offer when combined with technology. Especially aesthetically.
