Dell has updated the Vostro V13 line with the V130. It’s the first notebook to feature Intel’s new Hyperbaric cooling system. Internal fans are typically used to drive out hot air from the notebook, but the new design uses an internal fan to draw air into the notebook to the CPU and other components, keeping them cool. Then the hot air is expelled.

At it’s thinnest point, the V130 measures just 0.65 inches and is made from a combination of aluminum for the chassis, zinc hinges and has a magnesium alloy palm rest.

If you are a gamer that has the video card muscle to run really high resolutions like 2560 x 1600 that the average 30-inch LCD supports there are few things better than playing with such high res graphics. A big 30-inch screen is also great for those who work or play with lots of windows open too.

Dell has announced that it is now shipping its latest 30-inch LCD with an IPS panel called the U3011. The display has a 1000:1 typical contrast ratio and that contrast ratio is 100,000:1 dynamic. The screen has the 2560 x 1600 resolution you expect for a 30-inch panel and a 7ms response time that will make gamers happy.

Dell’s Inspiron Duo is a 10″ Netbook/Tablet that swivels

Posted in Dell by Conner Flynn on September 14th, 2010

The folks at Dell are crazy, throwing all kinds of ideas out there and seeing what sticks. Dell’s new Inspiron Duo is a 10″ tablet that opens up and swivels its screen to transform itself into a netbook. But what’s the point? Why swivel when it can just detach? This is just tablet madness.

They’re saying it will be available before the end of the year. Again crazy talk. Dell may actually be innovating something here. Dell showed off this Windows 7 Premium running and dual-core Atom N550 processor packing thing at the second day keynote of Intel’s IDF conference.
