According to the official O2 blog, things may not be running as smoothly as we thought for the Xperia Play. For one, it will miss it’s April 1st launch. This is due to having to work out some bugs and make it all stable so that we get a good phone, not a junk one.

They hope to have it all sorted as quickly as possible as they are “really excited about the Xperia PLAY” and will even be selling an exclusive white version. Maybe this is just them setting up an April fools prank, and on the 1st they will magically have it. We just don’t know.

It looks like the HTC Thunderbolt’s delays might be due to battery life issues. Verizon’s 4G phone is reportedly suffering from battery life that is so poor, it can drain out in two to three hours. Firmware was said to be to blame according to Engadget’s sources and there may be a fix coming in software.

Verizon has reportedly had to delay the Thunderbolt’s official launch date six times, which explains the multiple release dates that have surfaced. Hopefully they get things sorted out quickly and get the phone out.

The Google Nexus S was scheduled to go on sale in the UK today, but now Carphone Warehouse and Best Buy have just announced that the Nexus S wont go on sale until the 22nd of December. We don’t have any details on why the Nexus S has been delayed, but it could be due to the bad weather in the UK right now.

It could be that the units just can’t get where they need to get to. Earlier today there was news that the price of the Nexus S had dropped to £429, and it is now also cheaper on contract than what was previously announced.

We all like speedy delivery of the products that we buy. Let’s face it, we are all a bunch of spoiled babies. And so, Logitech is taking the time and effort to change our diapers by emailing out apology gift codes for those who did not get the Google TV device as expected.

The gift code is worth $25 and applies to anything on the website, plus the order will be upgraded to free shipping. Not a bad way to apologize at all.

The DirectTV TiVo that was scheduled to be delivered before the end of this year has been delayed until 2011. CEO Tom Rogers said that beta testing for the device will continue into next January. TiVo executives have suggested that TiVo will begin to shift towards service delivery, rather purely on manufacturing hardware.

The delays have apparently been associated the current product development timeline, where there is nothing to be gained by bringing a new product to market during the holiday season, as well as technical challenges.

We don’t have much info, but without giving a reason, Logitech as delayed the production of its G19 keyboard until May. Those who have been waiting will already be familiar with the specs.

The G19 is a gaming keyboard that features a QVGA resolution color GamePanel LCD screen. The 320-by-240-pixel display will give you valuable in-game information for over sixty games, including World of Warcraft.

I know you’ve been waiting with bated breath on the 17-inch MacBook Pro. Sadly, it’s now delayed until at least February 19th. Apple is emailing all of it’s pre-order customers, “wrapping up the new 17-inch MacBook Pro is taking a few days longer than we projected,” and they say that orders won’t ship for another two weeks.

It must take some special time consuming busy-work to keep that sealed battery in place. Maybe they’re just taking a two week break in preparation for a busy time down the road, when all those MacBooks come back needing new batteries.

You’ll have to wait just a little bit longer for the Blackberry Bold. It’s release has been delayed on both Rogers and AT&T. AT&T’s delay is much longer since Roger’s was pushed from July 25 to July 29 (tomorrow). AT&T subscribers on the other hand will have to wait until the middle of next month. The handset will hit retail stores around September 1. Meanwhile, Telstra in Australia announced that the Bold will make its debut there at the end of September.

If you’ve been eagerly watching your Windows Update on XP waiting for SP3 to show up your wait is over; it’s not coming, or at least not quite yet. At what seemed like a very last minute decision, Microsoft on Tuesday delayed the launch of Windows XP Service Pack 3 due to a compatibility glitch with Microsoft Dynamics Retail Management System software. The release was scheduled to be available through Windows Update on Tuesday and has already been released to manufacturing and volume customers last week.

“In the last few days, we have uncovered a compatibility issue between Microsoft Dynamics Retail Management System (RMS) and both Windows XP SP3 and Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (SP1),” said the firm.“In order to make sure customers have the best possible experience, we have decided to delay releasing Windows XP Service Pack 3 (SP3) to the web.”
