Apple delays white iPhone again

Steve Jobs can’t be happy about this. Apple has another iPhone 4 problem. This time, the elusive white iPhone strikes again, by being delayed again. All we know is that it will arrive sometime “later this year.”

Here is their statement: “White models of Apple’s new iPhone® 4 have continued to be more challenging to manufacture than we originally expected, and as a result they will not be available until later this year. The availability of the more popular iPhone 4 black models is not affected.”

Kindle 2.5 update pushed back

Posted in kindle by Conner Flynn on June 3rd, 2010

If you got the Kindle 2.5 firmware update, consider yourself lucky. Amazon has announced that it’s pushing back the update for everyone else. They need to make some “small adjustments” based on user feedback.

We have no idea what those adjustments are and Amazon isn’t offering a new date for the update. So we will know whenever they see fit to tell us. All we know is that they will be rolling out to “more users over the coming weeks.”

Sony delays PS3 Motion Controller

Posted in PS3 by Conner Flynn on January 20th, 2010

Sony has announced that its motion control peripheral for the PS3 will not be shipping in Spring 2010 as originally planned. Instead it will arrive in the fall, when they will have “an exciting and varied line-up of software titles that will deliver the new entertainment experience to PS3 users,”.

No big deal. We’d rather have a delay of the device with more quality games to play when it does arrive. It is a bit scary that this controller somewhat resembles a vibrator though.

Acer delaying U.S. smartphones until 2010, maybe

Posted in Acer by Conner Flynn on May 7th, 2009

Acer smartphone coming Q1 2009Acer entered the smartphone market just a few months ago, but sadly they’re now having problems with several U.S. carriers, which means we most likely won’t see any smartphones in the U.S. from the company until next year.

According to Acer’s PR people, they don’t have any phones planned for the U.S. until 2010 now. It sucks for those of us in the states because other countries are already getting their hands on the devices.

Amazon Kindle sold out: Three month delay

Posted in kindle by Conner Flynn on November 28th, 2008

Amazon Kindle sold out: Three month delayAmazon is having some trouble. Maybe they didn’t count on Oprah selling so many units. Maybe they just are really bad at stock management. Whatever the case, shipping on the Kindle ebook reader is currently listed as 11 to 13 weeks time, completely overshooting Christmas and making deliveries at some point in Q1 2009. This will be the second year in a row that the retailer could not meet demand. Last year, with the device being new, Amazon could at least use the excuse that they were ramping up production.

It was back in October that Oprah Winfrey endorsed the Kindle. Amazon is also rumored to be preparing the Kindle’s replacement, which was once expected to be on the market this holiday season, but now it is expected to be delayed until Q1 2009.
