samsung-logo-sbThere is a huge push in the enterprise computing and data center markets to move to more energy efficient and green servers. The push is not only because green computing is better for the environment, but also because saving power in the data center can mean huge money savings for companies.

Samsung has announced new RAM modules aimed at green computing in data center that are the world’s first 32GB DDR3 modules. The modules operate at 1.35V and have 20% greater throughput compared to 1.5V DDR3 modules.

Corsair introduces Dominator GT RAM

Corsair Dominator GT RAMCorsair has been one of the top and most popular memory makers in the PC world for a long time. Some of the highest of high-end gaming PC makers use Corsair RAM in their machines. When the Intel Core i7 CPU and X58 chipset combo launched one of the bad parts was that the system required new low voltage RAM.

The Dominator GT RAM is designed for the i7 and X58 combo with low voltage requirement. The DDR3 RAM is available in triple-channel kits up to 6GB. Corsair uses its Dual-path Heat eXchange technology in the heat sink to keep the modules cool.

Samsung DRAM ModulesWith the poor global economy making demand for DRAM greatly reduced and many DRAM companies facing the very real prospect of going bankrupt, it may seem surprising that Samsung is announcing a new DRAM chip onto an already flooded market. Yet, it has announced new DRAM with new features.

Samsung has announced what it claims to be the world’s first 4Gb DDR3 DRAM chip that is built using 50nm construction process. The low-power DDR3 DRAM is intended to enable a new generation of green servers, workstations, and notebook computers.

Kingston launches new HyperX T1 RAM for Core i7

Kingston HyperX T1 MemoryWhen Intel first started getting detailed about hardware requirements for its Core i7 CPUs, one of the things that worried some enthusiasts was the low max voltage RAM could be ran at. This meant that new RAM was needed to get the best performance out of the Core i7 and X58 chipset combination.

Kingston was among the first RAM makers in late October to launch triple-channel kits specifically for the new Intel platform with its first triple channel HyperX RAM. Kingston is now back with more DDR3 triple channel kits specifically for the Core i7 platform and other platforms. The difference is that the new HyperX offerings Kingston has announced use a new heatspreader design.
