Admittedly, most clocks are not very uplifting, but this clock is a downright bummer, reminding you of your own mortality and the repetitiveness of your everyday. If ever there was a clock to slit your wrist by, this has got to be it.

The Daily Life Clock makes me sad just looking at its dark face. It has a grandmother, grandchild and dog as the hour, minute and second hands. They all rotate around the globe and pass through various scenery. Then it repeats again and again, reminding us of all we have failed to accomplish.

Xbox 360 owners can now make their Xbox glow like depleted uranium, without setting off the geiger counter. In the light of day, the XCM Pearl Glow is translucent so you can see the insides. Turn out the lights and it glows a bright X-Files green.

Nothing sucks more then walking around in the dark and stubbing your toe. It hurts like a @!#*!…The FootLume carpet design should be able to help with that. It’s a high-tech rug with electroluminescent lights and weight sensors. As you walk in the dark, the rechargeable rug lights up and guides you. The light won’t bother those still sleeping and best of all, no stubbed toes.

Two students at London’s South Bank University designed it. The prototype was shown at the Ideal Homes show, where they hoped to find a manufacturer. We may actually see this one on our floors pretty soon.
