University report warns that Apple’s glossy screens are a danger |
Danger. Danger Will Robinson. Apple’s screens are a silent danger just waiting to mess you up. So says an advisory recently published by Queensland University of Technology, which predicts a rash of injuries as a result of users straining to get a clear look at Apple’s “high gloss” screens, due to the ergonomically unsafe postures and positions that result.
If you have such a display, Queensland Tech offers many suggestions for staying healthy: One is placing the monitor so that screen is at a 90 degree angle to overhead lighting, another is closing the curtains or blinds to minimize glare, and adjusting the contrast / turning down the brightness. Most importantly, do not panic!

It’s a rumor that refuses to die. The Zune phone. We last speculated about it
Microsoft announced Monday that it is going to acquire Danger, software maker for the popular consumer-targeted Sidekick mobile device. Reportedly the purchase came after months of negotiations, with Danger receiving a number of different offers and Microsoft doubling their original offer to keep Danger out of others hands. That offer has been rumored to be as much as $500 million, but no official terms of the deal have been revealed.
After quite a long time of speculation and rumored pictures, T-Mobile and Danger have unveiled both the Sidekick LX and the Sidekick Slide. The two new mobile communication gadgets are both pretty cool but might each be targeted to a slightly different set of people.
