Xbox 360 shoved into a PS3 case

Xbox 360 shoved into a PS3 caseLast night we told you about the Wii winning the console wars this holiday season. The Xbox 360 did well too. But nobody wanted the poor PS3. There’s apparently at least one modder who the likes the PS3. The outside of it anyway.

This modder shoved an Xbox 360 into a PS3 case. It wasn’t a perfect fit, with a large hole cut into the front to allow access to the tray. It’s for those gamers who can’t make up their mind and love both consoles along with some neon.

Star Wars Nintendo Wii Case Mod

Posted in Wii by Conner Flynn on December 14th, 2008

Star Wars Nintendo Wii Case ModIt’s been awhile since we saw a really cool Wii case mod, though we did bring you 14 neat mods some time ago. This custom Star Wars case mod is pretty awesome and you can learn to make one too. Just be warned that the creator invested over 100 hours of work.

It includes lots of LEDs and fiber optics to give it some nice glowing effects. If you’d rather buy one and not put in the time, you can find this gem on ebay for $499.99. It features stars that fade in and out, custom Red Light Bar, and a hand Painted Death Star, X-Wing and Darth Vader’s Tie-Fighter. Pretty sweet.

Custom made Prescription Beer Goggles

Posted in Apparel by Conner Flynn on November 25th, 2008

Custom made Prescription Beer GogglesSome of us wear Beer goggles all of the time and just aren’t that choosy. To these people everyone is attractive. Until the next morning. Others wear Beer goggles only after they’ve had way too many beers. Same result in the morning. Why? Because your Beer goggles wear off.

You shouldn’t be more discriminating, you just need to never ever take your Beer goggles off. That way you won’t be disappointed. That’s where UrbanSpectacles.com comes in. They will manufacture prescription Beer goggles. Every girl will look great, plus you’ll be fashionable. All you need to do is send them your empty beer containers and they will use them as housing for prescription lenses, in the desired tint.

ZzzPhone goes Android

Posted in Android by Conner Flynn on November 24th, 2008

ZzzPhone goes AndroidYou might expect the second Android cellphone to come from Motorola or Nokia, but according to John Biggs over at Crunchgear, it’s the Zzzphone, a full-QWERTY keyboard Chinese slider which apparently runs the Android operating system. It’s tauted as the world’s first unlocked quad-band mobile featuring the Google Android Operating System.

It seems to do everything you could ever want it to do as well. It works everywhere in the world and can be built and personalized per your custom requirements with GPS, Wi-Fi, even your choice of seven colors for cases, and 15 other options. Up to 32GB of memory, they are also claiming to be the world’s first phone with snap on modular accessories, like a full QWERTY keyboard, mini boom box, projector and more. Damn. John says that he has ordered one and it should be arriving in ten days. It’s only $119.

Fiat 126 Flat Out is the lowest lowrider ever

Fiat 126 Flat Out is the lowest lowrider everWhen I came across this one, at first I thought it was an RC lawnmower. Nope. It’s just the lowest car ever. The Fiat 126 Flat Out is touted as the world’s lowest vehicle, at just under 22-inches tall. Even more surprising, it was built by Andy Saunders and his two man team in just THREE days. Those were 18-hour days. He built the car as part of the celebrations for the 40th Annual Autojumble at the National Motor Museum in Beaulieu, Hampshire. Awesome as it is, it would be pretty sweet to see this thing mowing a huge stretch of lawn at super speeds.

Custom-made Metal Gear Solid 4 PS3

Posted in PS3 by Conner Flynn on October 21st, 2008

Custom-made Metal Gear Solid 4 PS3Konami’s limited edition Metal Gear Solid 4 PS3 seems absolutely plain when compared to this custom-made system built by Morpheon Mods. It’s absolutely drool worthy and available for auction on eBay. Some of the features include a laser-cut, stainless steel MGS4 marquee, a laser-etched image of Solid Snake himself, a carbon fiber Fox Hound logo on the back, and 14 white micro LEDs to light it all up. That’s Hideo Kojima’s autograph as well.

It’s a fully backwards compatible 60GB PS3. You know it isn’t going to be cheap. Bidding is already up to $2,550.00 with six days left. You’ll also get some other Metal Gear goodies with it, and 15% of the proceeds will go toward the Child’s Play charity. That is one beauty of a PS3. Go bid.

Limited edition cat motorcycle purrs, loudly

Limited edition cat motorcycle purrs, loudlyThere’s not a ton of information on this cat-themed motorcycle, but we can tell you that it’s powered by a 1200cc Buell 97 S3 Thunderbolt engine. We also believe it’s supposed to be a Jaguar, the cat body being fiberglass finished in ultra-high-gloss ebony polyurethane lacquer. The air intakes and exhaust system of course had to be custom-engineered to go along with the cat body.

They will definitely see you coming on this bike. That is, if you have any money left for gas after shelling out almost $600,000. It would be a perfect bike for say, Catwoman in the next Dark Knight movie.

11 cool Nintendo DS mods

Obama DS Lite
While we’re waiting with bated breath for a possible new updated Nintendo DS model that has been rumored, we thought we would take a look at some of our favorite DS mods. Like the Wii, modders love to spice up Nintendo’s boring design and put their own personal touches on the device. Some are weird, some are awesome, some will make you wonder what’s in the modder’s local water supply, but all are creative.

Xbox 360 Dark Knight edition

Xbox 360 Dark Knight edition
And Dark Knight mania continues. If we aren’t spotting a DIY Tumbler or learning how Batman spends his nights, we are coming across some other Batman inspired Doodad.

In this case we’ve got an Xbox 360 under protective plastic with the Dark knight logo branded onto it. This is apparently a “limited edition” or one of a kind Dark Knight Xbox 360 shown off by Microsoft over in Taiwan. That’s about all we know. Zip,zero, zilch, nada. One can only drool and imagine batwing controllers.

Vancake is a VW bus for tiny hippies

Vancake is a VW bus for tiny hippies
Does this qualify as a Lowrider? I have no idea. It’s claimed that the Vancake is the lowest Volkswagen Bus in the world. Tiny hippies use it to go back and forth between Burning Man and Middle Earth. It measures only 3 feet tall and was originally a VW Camper.

Apparently it manages to be street legal. Designers Just Kampers and Andy Saunders created the Vancake in just three days. They did all the work during the Bug Jam festival at the UK’s Santa Pod Raceway from June 18 to June 20, which consisted of removing the Volkswagen’s roof, putting in an electric sunroof, and completely redoing the paint job. It may be street legal, but it’s just plain wrong.

iPhone 3G: Now in technicolor
When gadgets need colors, who ya gonna call? Colorware of course. I know one thing, the iPhone 3G is in desperate need of a colorful upgrade.

For the price of $150, Colorware will give your iPhone 3G some color on it’s backside. For an extra $20 more, you can customize the button and frame. You’ll have a colorful iPhone sure, but when you factor in the price, your 3G will have cost you $150 more. Doh! It actually looks pretty pleasing in a lime and red and blue…

DIY Tumbler built by one man, not Batman

DIY Tumbler built by one man, not Batman
Have a look at this thing. Can you believe it was built entirely by one man who is not Bruce Wayne? This is Bob Dullam’s replica of Batman’s Tumbler. It’s clearly the work of a mad genius. It looks awesome yes, but he didn’t skimp on the specs. It’s got the afterburner, the huge double-barrel wheels, and the body has all of the stealth angles.

As reference, he used only any and all images that would be available to you or me and the movies. And he did it in his garage. The neighbors must have thought he had gone a bit batty. And yes, he owns his own Bat suit as well.

Coffin modded car makes for one morbid race

Coffin modded car makes for one morbid race
Here’s a car to die for…I bet the engine croaked…These things are normally kept underground to prevent 3 coffin pile-ups on the highway. Bad jokes aside, where do you get the gonads to make a car out of a coffin? Isn’t that like thumbing your nose at death? It can only end with a high speed chase, with a very unhappy grim reaper on your tail. Of course it’s a fairly easy mod. You get a new coffin.(Yeah. Don’t go digging up relatives.) Add an engine, wheels steering etc and you’re off.

Meninos hard drives make storage fun

Meninos hard drives make storage fun
Plain boring hard drives. We’ve all got one. But what if you could jazz up that hard drive and actually make a creative statement about your work area? The artists of Brazil’s Meninos design studio hate boring hard drives and they did something about it.

It all started when they made these custom pop art hard drive cases for friends. Now they are releasing them into the wild so everyone can enjoy them. Each external USB hard drive case is made by hand at their studio, using a custom acrylic case covered with a vinyl wrapper that features one of their designs. They’ll also make custom designs for you if you want to upload Adobe Illustrator art using their custom template. I like the Stormtrooper.

Pimp your crib with custom chandeliers

Pimp your crib with custom chandeliers
Looking for something huge, shiny and just oozing with that kinda classiness that can only come from things you saw on MTV’s cribs? I think I found it for ya. Nothing says class like giant chandeliers shaped like a handgun, AK-47, Skull and cross-bones and even a giant spider.

These are the handiwork of a company called Rock and Royal from The Netherlands. They’ve been creating custom chandeliers for people with too much money since 2005. Since the work is all custom, you’ll have to contact them directly for any pricing you want to know about. What are you still doing here? Go check them out. These go hand in hand with your gold teeth and chest bling.
