The folks over at HP have a special place in their hearts for cow manure. And I’m not talking about their press releases. Thank you, I’ll be here all week. Seriously, HP is into dairy cows now in a big way. They think that they could turn manure into fuel and use it effectively.

With the right equipment, methane can be extracted from the manure and since the average cow makes enough waste per day to power a 100-watt light bulb, if they had 10,000 cows…That’s enough fuel to generate a one-megawatt data center.

This lamp has been a long time coming and we’ve been waiting patiently for our chance to see cows in mid-abduction. It has finally gone from prototype to reality. You gotta love the aliens peering out of the UFO windows.

This final version of the lamp features LEDs that light up the alien cockpit, and a steel retro spacecraft over an illuminated tractor beam. You can have the light always on or a pulse lighting effect behind the windows. When you turn the lights off, the aliens glow in the dark.

There are few things cooler or more awesome than seeing a cow being lifted into a flying saucer. Though the cow may disagree. Haven’t witnessed this with your own eyes in the night sky? Here’s the next best thing.

The antenna on top is the on/off switch. It comes in a plain version with just the saucer and light ray and you can also get the more humorous cow abducting edition. The Alien Abduction Lamp is in the functional prototype stage and not yet available, sadly. Hopefully soon as I know the creator has been at it for some time.

What the #%$$@ was the manufacturer thinking? There is no scenario in which this USB hub is even remotely normal on your desk. I guess if you like to torture cows by sticking flash drives in them, you might take a shine to it, but mostly it’s just wrong.

I guess it could have been worse. The cow could be standing and have a bunch of flash drives as udders. Maybe you have to coax them in so it looks like you’re milking the beast. Damn. I think I just gave them another idea. Seriously old Bessie here looks like she’s begging for a bullet to put her out of her misery. Poor thing.
