Coffee tables don’t have to be boring. This one will provide much more fun than just a place to put your books and coffee mugs on it. A fellow named zieak created this amazing table, after picking up a pinball machine from the dump.

He basically transferred the playing surface of the old pinball machine (with some LEDs) into a coffee table. And now I want to do the same.

This NES Coffee Table is far too beautiful to rest your coffee on for even a second. It is a perfect oversized replica of the console that we all know and love.

The best part is that this Cool NES Coffee Table has a fully functional gigantic controller that you can find stored in the game slot. And you won’t even have to take a cartridge out and blow on it to get it to work.

We’ve seen our share of coffee tables here at the ‘Brick, but this is the first giant iPhone 4 table we’ve seen. We don’t have many details, but obviously it lacks flash.

We do know that it’s a one of a kind custom piece, so you wont be able to get one unless you make it yourself. Then you too can kick off your crocs and put your bare feet beneath it, hopefully with no signal loss.

Many of us have tons of VHS tapes laying around the house, even today. Here’s a great project that will help you better use them. This VHS coffee table was created using 92 old VHS tapes as the table’s base.

It’s a great way to recycle all those old VHS tapes lying around. It’s not like you are ever going to watch them again anyway, since the quality is so bad. Might as well decorate with them.

Taschen, maker of all kinds of overpriced coffee table books, has reissued the Norman Mailer book Moonfire, which comes in an aluminum case with Apollo11 struts. The front cover is made to look like the moon’s surface and even comes with a separate piece of lunar rock in a Marc Newson case.

What will all of this cost you? This limited-edition book is $90,500. There’s a cheaper version for $1,500 for folks like you and me, but it’s probably garbage. This is one small step for people with too much money and one giant leap for Taschen’s pocketbook.

LEGO fans who are also foosball fans will love this one. This LEGO Coffee Table Foosball Table features custom minifigs and an authentic “faux” oak woodgrain finish. The creator says that he still has to tweak some of the finer details, but it looks pretty amazing. Much nerdier and cooler than the Barbie Foosball table.

The only question we have is, how durable is this? It has some amazing detail and looks like a lot of fun. The pirate flag is a nice touch. Now, who will battle him in the first official LEGO foosball championship? You know it’s coming. Better keep an eye out and get your tickets.

When you have a table as awesome as the Pac-Man Coffee Table, you better use coasters. Or else. This table is all kinds of awesome. It’s really a superbly detailed work of ingenious geek art.

Syd Bolton from Ontario, Canada contacted designer Erin McFadden, who took a plain coffee table and turned it into this. One of the coolest geek tables ever. Now why can we not buy this kind of furniture in stores? You just know that he goes ballistic when his friends don’t use coasters. And I don’t blame him.

Coffee tables just sit there and do nothing. They just wait for the stray drink and the occasional pair of feet and that’s about it. If you want a more adventurous coffee table, you could get yourself SparkFun’s LED coffee table, which took two years to build. It kicks the legs out from beneath other cofee tables with it’s ability to play a four-way game of cooperative Pong.

It uses 64 RGB serial matrices, 4 Atari controllers, and an LPC2106 dev board to create said game of Pong. Since it’s a one of a kind piece, you can’t just pick one up at the store. But if you’ve got about 2 years and some electronics experience, you can make one too. Or just admire this one.

The NES Coffee Table is one of the coolest mods we’ve seen recently. Get this, it’s not just decorative. You can actually use it as a controller during game play, and it also provides excellent space for storing away all of your gaming gear.

There’s only one problem that I can see. It’s a conversation piece for sure, but once your guests see it, that’s ALL they are going to talk about, asking a zillion questions, like “how much?” and “will you make me one?”.
