Coffee makes the world go round. If we had no coffee, none of us would get out of bed in the morning. So it makes sense that we are always looking to improve coffee making technology. This new coffee machine concept is a bit different. And we aren’t sure it really improves things much.

It has a dock for an Android powered smartphone on top. Apparently the phone runs an app that would play music when docked, so you get have some tunes with your coffee. It has a QR-code scanner that reads the barcode-like tags on top of the coffee cartridges and plays music to go with the brand/flavor.

Designer Alisson Wilson Ströher’s IMO coffee maker is all about being compact and practical for your home. But it looks like a robot arm. Everytime I had coffee I would be sad that I don’t have the rest of the robot. I might search online and see if I can order his other parts, which would make me sadder. Because you can’t.

Would you keep a robot arm in your kitchen? This coffee maker can adjust its height so you can fill cups of any size. You can also brew three packets of coffee without changing the water inside. It’s only a concept, but if it existed, it would cost just $130.

It will still make a mean cup of coffee and comes with a removable grill for macciato lattes, an illuminated collecting pan for your used coffee capsules, and it does it all with the single press of a big blingy button. A few more shiny gadgets like this in your kitchen and you will be blinded when the sun shines in.
