Luckily, for Cellular South customers HTC didn’t give a major carrier an exclusive on the sweet HTC Hero Android phone. The device will hit the Cellular South network soon with preorders starting on October 5.

All Weather cellular cameraWhat’s the big deal about this camera? It’s the only surveillance camera system in the world designed to send back captured footage over GSM cellular networks. So no matter where you are this baby will be able to send back photos to you so you can view them online.

Another interesting feature is that it has no wires and is cable free. Of course they had to make it somewhat rugged too. It’s virtually weatherproof. Even the look says rugged and ready to go.

Verizon Wireless Network Extender

Verizon Wireless today introduced a femtocell base station designed by Samsung which is for routing Verizon Wireless calls through a customer’s home broadband Internet connection. It is called the Verizon Wireless Network Extender and it retails for around $250.

The Verizon Wireless Network Extender is about the size of a wireless router box or small attache case, said Verizon. It uses femtocell technology to enhance wireless coverage inside homes where location, geography or structural conditions interfere with reception. It provides this enhanced coverage in an area up to 5,000 square feet.

EMobile’s Japanese ad compares Obama with a monkey?

The Japanese have done a ton of wacky things they should be ashamed of gadget-wise and otherwise. Now they’re getting into politics to sell phones and the result is bizarre. This commercial for Japan’s EMobile cellular company has a monkey dressed up in a suit, at a podium in front of a crowd.

The crowd is holding signs that read “Change.” At the end, the monkey cries a tear, clearly ashamed as he should be. Bad monkey. Their intentions may or may not have been entirely innocent, but we all know that if this aired in America there would be hell to pay.
