No surprise that we have some new nano cases after the iPod nano announcement last week. Griffin has released two different lines. There’s the iClear Sketch collection, which comes in 13 translucent patterns and colors. They look pretty sweet.

Then there’s the company’s iClear Shade line that offers solid-colored cases that feature graduated tints, while the FlexGrip lines’ silicone cases make it easy to hold on to your device.

The Japan Texture series of cases for the iPhone are certainly beautiful if you are into the Japanese style. Downright awesome. Why wouldn’t you want to park your iPhone in one? Well, there are a few reasons. These cases cost more than your actual phone, for one.

Plus, they are covered in lacquer and gold dust, which is sure to come off in a matter of minutes. But if you have some disposable income, the series consists of five case designs that depict art of the Sengoku period. They also come with a storage box and each of the handmade cases takes roughly three weeks to make.

Love Apple or hate them, I think we can all admit that the iPhone is one of the classiest looking phones. So why not class it up a bit more and add some sophistication in the form of a handmade wooden case? Etsy seller Substrat has created some really lovely cases. They’re all shaped and sanded to perfection and compliment your iPhone’s design. They will hold it snugly and keep it safe.

Sadly, you won’t be able to use any of the buttons. But that’s the price you pay for awesome looks. The price is about $84.99. These are probably the best wood iPhone cases we’ve seen yet.

You just bought the new iPod Shuffle huh? Maybe that voice-over hasn’t gotten annoying yet and you still care for it. You don’t want it to get scratched up, before you toss it on the freeway once you’ve had enough. iLuv just announced their new iPod shuffle cases. Think of them as stylish jackets for that little talking voice in your device.

The iLuv Shuffle cases come in different colors, so you can play dress up in white, pink, blue or black from the four pack of silicone cases. Also clear and tinted black cases in the two pack.

The folks over at OtterBox, protectors of gadgets for the active and accident-prone, gave us a chance to try out one of their defensive products to see just how well it holds up. In this case, OtterBox sent us a protective case for the Blackberry Curve, a device I have with me day in and day out.

Since the case from OtterBox is protecting something I own and depend on daily, we did not put it through the usual drops, dunks and vodka-proof trials that we would normally do. But, despite this we can tell you that this case blows away any other protective case we’ve had our hands on, for any mobile device.

The PSP is cool and all, but like any other device, it’s outer shell is boring. Gametech has the answer and wants to glam up your PSP with a set of protector cases coming out that make your portable look like a work of art. The designs are the bright patterns of Japanese woodcarvings and traditional paintings.

Their new line’s name translates to Wasabi Beautiful Colors and they come in durable hard covers, flexible soft covers, and gauze capsule cases that make your PSP look like it was wrapped. They’ll be available in Japan at the end of the month, and they’ll probably hit other countries soon after.

Being a man of a certain age, rather then a teenage girl, I admittedly don’t get the whole Paul Frank Monkey thing. But that monkey is damn popular. He’s on Pajamas, handbags,shirts, you name it. An iPhone with integrated solar cells may be quite a ways off, so in the meantime Solar Arcadia’s solar-powered cases are your best option. The cases are available in SideFlip and Leather Flip models and offer a bit of extra protection for your handset.

They feature a solar panel so that your phone can enjoy at least a few more minutes of life while you’re out in the sunlight. Each case is constructed from ABS sheepskin and comes in a trio of colors. Red, white or black (The Leather Flip is only available in black).

Popular iPod case manufacturer iSkin is introducing a new case accessory specifically designed for the new Apple iPhone 3G. It is called the iSkin revo2 and pricing is around $40.

The iSkin revo2 encases the iPhone 3G in a protective silicone material, according to iSkin. This is designed to protect your mobile from dings and dirt. Joining this layer of protection is antimicrobial product protection as well as a face shield which is transparent and detachable.

Taking a queue from the marketing folks for Apple’s new MacBook Air, Timbuk2 has announced the Steve Sleeve. The thin case designed specifically for the notebook resembles the manila envelope that Apple uses in their commercials and that Steve Jobs used to originally present the Macbook Air.

Timbuk2 assures us that when the Steve Sleeve actually starts shipping in March we’ll find that it’s much tougher than a standard manila enveloper, however. It has a soft low-pile fleece lining (from recycle-ready poly no less), an exterior made from the same stuff as mountaineering jackets, ultrasonic welds on the seems and brushed (recyclable) aluminum buttons.

BlackBerry 8800 series device owners looking for a way to protect their CrackBerry investment should take note of a new case from Otter Products. The OtterBox 1933, priced at around $50, is designed to give your BlackBerry an extra level of protection.

The OtterBox 1933 offers what Otter Products says is three layers of protection. These layers include a clear membrane to protect the screen and keyboard against scratches and a polycarbonate shell and silicone skin to protect against bumps and shock. The combined case offers usability of the BlackBerry’s trackball and headset speaker.
