Aftermarket Xbox 360 case, quiet, cool, & fat
Is your Xbox 360 too loud? Is it hot and just too compact for you? The Lian-Li PC-XB01 case mod will let you rest easy. The case is like a silencer for the disc drive thanks to sound-proofing foam. It also has great airflow to keep things chill via a 120mm fan or optional water cooling system.

And if you like a console that’s got some extra cushion for the button pushin’, this case is about four times the size of the 360. No pricing yet, but it should be available this August.

Orb PC looks like a time traveling Pac-Man

Orb PC looks like a time traveling Pac-Man
There are PCs, and then there are PCs that look like Pac-Man has arrived from the future to kick ass and chew bubble gum…And he’s all out of bubble gum. Plus he’s got legs. According to the modder, this PC came about because he wanted to “construct some kind of Pacman or motorcycle-helmet that can open a visor driven by a motor.”

The visor is comprised of two quarter-spheres, one slightly smaller than the other. They are glued together with about 5mm of space for the water cooling system. I’d say job well done. This thing looks like it could lurch forward at any minute and start gobbling things up.

Metroid
The Wii has changed the face of gaming with it’s interactive motion controls. So much so, that every other console has begun work on their own version. Just as the Wii has changed gaming, gamers are constantly changing the Wii console itself, giving it all kinds of personalities. Here’s a look at some of our favorites.

Vaja leather case for MacBook Air
I’ve seen both love and hate toward some other MacBook Air cases, I guess it all depends on what your style is. This one is sure to please just because it’s different. The ivolution Leather Macbook Air Case from Vaja is…a leather case for your MacBook Air. It’s gotta beat a manilla folder right? It provides some protection from those sharp edges and has a nice sleek and fitted look. What the hell, make your MacBook more like your car interior.

Zune logos spotted on an iPhone case

Zune logos spotted on an iPhone caseA few days ago, we told you about some new iPhone cases on the way from Belkin. Well, regarding one of those cases, the guys over at Crave noticed something interesting. Something almost conspiratorial.

The case in question is Belkin’s new “Micro Grip” for the 3G iPhone. It’s basically a bunch of interconnected Zune logos. Conspiracy aside, I’m not sure this is the case to go with, since it’s more or less a rubber web and won’t offer complete protection. Plus, it’s got me paranoid now and I’m not sure where my allegiance should be. Apple or Microsoft. Or is this saying that it’s alright to be both? I’m confused. And probably being watched.

ChocoCase is the ugliest iPhone case ever

ChocoCase is the ugliest iPhone case ever
The Homade ChocoCase is an iPhone case that’s supposed to look like a delicious chocolate bar, but it just looks plain fugly. It makes your iPhone look fugly. It’s like Willy Wonka got high on Everlasting crack fumes.

As far as chocolate goes, this brand looks like it’s super cheap and would give you a severe case of diarrhea. Do you really hate your phone that much? I thought not. But hey, if you wanna ugly it up it can be yours for $29.99.

iSkin FuzeLove it or hate it there is no denying that the Apple iPhone has made a big impact in the mobile phone market. Since the introduction of the iPhone most every major cell phone maker has come to market with touch enabled phones and devices. Some of the devices are good and some of them not so good.

Despite the fact that Apple is widely expected to announce the new iPhone today at the Apple WWDC, iSkin is announcing a new case for the first generation iPhone. The case is called the Fuze and despite the fact that first generation iPhone’s are hard to come by in most parts iSkin promises the Fuze is the best case around for the iPhone.

Anime girl PC casemod is the work of nerd desperation

Anime girl PC casemod is the work of nerd desperation
What’s a nerd to do when one day you wake up and realize that there’s no woman in your life and there likely never will be? You create your own woman, that’s what! One who will carry your PC on her back like Luke carrying Yoda.

If that’s not creepy enough, make sure you take plenty of pictures of the project, and I mean planty, detailing every stage of it’s construction and adding to the overall flavor of desperation and geek excitement. That’s what Katsuya Matsumura did. His gal is party in the front and PC in the back. Say what you will about a perv and his PC, you don’t have one.

Hardbox external drive case hardcover books

Hardbox external drive case hardcover books
These Hardbox external drive cases should come in pretty handy. For one thing, we all know that having books around makes you seem smarter. Plus, if some thieves happen to break into your house, they just might be stupid enough to think it’s a real book. Nobody wants to steal those.

The enclosure supports 3.5 inch SATA I or II drives and connects to your PC via USB. There’s no fan, instead it uses the fake page detailing on the edges as a heat sink, keeping it extremely quiet. The power supply is built-in so the AC cord doesn’t need a large transformer, but that does add to the enclosure’s size. It has a physical write protection switch on the back, and a ‘Backup’ button for manually starting a backup of your data. At $300, you better hope a burglar isn’t into classic literature.

Stand Pouch replaces the tripod

Stand Pouch replaces the tripod
Here’s a nifty little device that should come in very handy. Normally, when you can place your camera on a flat surface to take that perfect shot, you can’t angle the camera easily. That’s where the Stand Pouch comes in handy.

It’s basically a camera case with a tripod connector built in. The connector can be adjusted just like a tripod. You carry your camera in it, then just put your camera on it. Simple right? Well then why didn’t you think of it? Or me for that matter.

Factron Quattro Aluminum Case for iPod Nano

Factron Quattro Aluminum Case for iPod Nano
For those of you looking for the perfect case to protect your new iPod Nano in style, this one stands out from the crowd. No artwork or obscenely bright colors here, but the new shape is really appealing.

These Factron Quattro Aluminum Jackets are from Mizumori Ado and it they look sturdy. In fact the looks are so nice in an industrial sort of way, I almost want to drop the device on purpose just to see what happens. Unfortunately, these will be sold only in Japan and in extremely limited quantities.

French maid PC case will not get you laid

French maid PC case
Yes, buying this French maid PC case is as good as admitting that you have not yet had, and likely never will have relations with the opposite sex. And if your first reaction was wood, followed by a burning desire for an upskirt shot in the hopes of finding your new favorite USB port, I suggest you buy this sawed off plaything and go to town. Real girls everywhere will thank you for removing yourself from the gene pool.

Be warned. It costs a hefty $499. And you don’t even get boobs. In geek money that translates to about 10 Wii games. It’s only about 1/4 of a woman in it’s current state anyway. It might be fun to mix and match different body parts, both under and above this torso. You know, give it some Amphibian legs, with a terminator exoskeleton top or something.

Hand-carved wooden iPod cases

Hand-carved wooden iPod cases
These wood iPod Touch cases are real beauties. They come from mjdinsmore on Etsy. Handcrafted from cedar and mahogany, they have some nice detail and look like they are quality. They will cost you from $31 to $80 and come in a variety of styles. The one pictured above is carved out of a single piece of sustainable-grown mahogany. That’s alot cooler then using plastic.

Plus, you’ll get that natural, warm feel of wood in your hands. It will keep your iPod Touch well protected with style. You’ll be alright, even if you spill something. No wood jokes. I did it!

Review: iPhone Otterbox Defender

iPhone Otterbox Defender
In honor of our current contest, Otterbox sent me their Defender case for review. Keep the funny comments coming guys(and gals), you have until midnight on Valentine’s day to enter. I have to say, you people are really surprising me with your creativity. Now, on with the review.

The Otterbox is probably the most rugged iPhone case I’ve seen. Comprised of plastic and rubber, it couldn’t be easier to install. It will protect not only the body, but the screen as well. It’s water resistant NOT water proof.(Don’t go swimming with it, ye of withered braincells) I found it interesting that the Defender actually protects the headphone jack, serial jack, speakers and mic, helping keep any debris safely outside.
